Spirit. Yes that's where I got it from. It was interesting to see where the cold spots in here are.

and what is the use of it?????

Sorry that is probably a really dumb question (I am kind of glad we have no single men joined us yet, so I don't feel so daft lol). I get that it will identify the cold areas in the house but what are you then going to do/can do to rectify these cold spots?

iammumtoone Not a dumb question at all. It has helped me identify the source of cold spots. One area being the front door so maybe a curtain over there in the winter. The kitchen has a few cold spots so looking to see what is causing it and what I can do.
  • Never used him, but we have a local "handyman" who calls his business "Hire a Hubby". His advertising tag is that he'll do all those things your husband doesn't, can't or won't. At least I think he's a handyman :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl: I know...I know...it was the bit where it said "other services" after listing off the specifics like tiling, painting, etc:rotfl::rotfl:

    Further quick googling revealed:

    handyhubbyhire
    dialahubby
    rentahubby

Not that these firms are being a bit sexist in their titles:rotfl:

I'm not even going to go there and google to see if there are any equivalent hireawife sites...

Now...gals...do you think we oughta learn some DIY skills ourselves and see if these firms would take us on...wonders what they would have to rename themselves to then if they were employing handywomen as well?:think:

It sounds like a rule of life that workmen are usually men:cool:....and unpaid carers are usually women:(

EDIT: well...okays...I did google and there ARE hireawife sites. First glance reveals its housework services being offered....

    Morning folks..

Well, second coat is on the one wall as was awake at 5am....Jeeze.

Actually I find it pretty annoying not being able to do things or not knowing what to do. I have a feeling DIY books and google may be my new best friends....along with mr.Sat-nav.

To get old wardrobes taken apart and removed when the time comes, i'll just put an ad in local rag saying free to good home if I don't find anyone who wants to buy them. They are pretty new I think and immaculate condition so someone may want to pay a few pennies for them...failing that, Freecycle....Or....if I have a handyman by then could trade them for a small job, as they will be about 600 or more new I think. Pity they wouldn't fit anywhere else really but they don't....and are black glass which i'm not majorly keen on.

Time for Eggs and soldiers in bed me thinks and a bit of tv, then lunch out with a friend and a new bod to meet....all good. a walk if it's not teaming it down....and manage to stop talking long enough.

    Enjoy your day people.

Oh god cat is running around throwing up.....vile cat....hope she hasn't been licking the paint off the wall (she loves paint for some odd reason, especially if a colour..???). off to lock cat out of room.

Singlie dog wanters but putter offers because of commitments...

Have you considered volunteering through something like the cinnamon trust? A part time dog?

There must also be people like me with more than one dog who'd gladly welcome someone to walk with.

......Skids in.......trying not to spill cuppa.....did someone mention firemen.....am I too late??

Sorry, have been too weary to join in much, and had to have an early night last night as felt quite poorly. A good sleep later (even ignored cat being sick...), I feel much better. Problems that get to me emotionally absolutely kill me physically, too.

Keeping an eye on old-boy-cat as this is the 3rd time he's been sick in a week, but he seems happy and bouncy in himself, so hoping it's nothing too serious. He seems to do this sometimes. Then nothing for a few weeks, then this again.

No point in replacing carpets in this house while he does this, and young-boy-cat occasionally forgets the litter trays when he's ultra stressed, and both scratch the carpets/sofas. I gave up long ago...can't remember who was thinking of buying carpets to replace shredded ones, but my advice would be not to. Hmmm...beginning to wonder why I luvs my cats...:o

Anyone heard from Groatie queen? Hope she's ok. I know she said she was feeling dodgy earlier in the week.

Had such a hectic week, that have decided not to go on walk with walking group tomorrow, and will have quiet time at home, catching up on chores, and irritating the cats...oh and eating pork crackling....just because I can:T. Today is busier, but very much looking forward to being able to relax and have a nice lunch out with friends.

    Have a good'un, all. Laters

    :)

    xx

Morning CC. I like getting stuff done in the early mornings too. you've put me in the mood to decorate now!

I nipped down to the sorting office at 7am when they opened. I ordered some sweet almond oil for my reed diffuser making thing and they arrived the other day. Really cheap for 1 litre so bought 2.

waiting now for wickes to deliver my fence panels. Supposed to be between 8 and 12. Sods law i'm usually last on any delivery run!

It's raining today so can't get any gardening done - still got some yew hedging to plant.

I've done 2 loads of washing, still got to mop the floors (hate laminate) and hoover upstairs.

Started knitting another chemo hat for someone last night, so could finish that whilst I'm waiting for my delivery.
Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j
