I've just had another text from DD's gf, asking me why I involved the rspca (I didn't, support did) and that I am not a mother, for doing that to a DD, and to leave them alone.
I know I shouldn't be upset, because the gf is trying to isolate DD and I'm the scapegoat...she didn't help with the bunns at all, and of course DD is heartbroken. But not heartbroken enough to have done something about them.
I am not going to reply, but will ask support to make it clear it was not me. It's a horrible trigger though...seems I'm fated to know really toxic people. They want me to leave them alone, which I'm doing, but they keep texting!
She's not having a go as such, she's trying to pick a fight with you. She probably knows that what she has texted is a load of rubbish but she's trying to antagonise you into having a go at her so she can say to your DD "look what your mum said to me" and so on. Don't rise to it. I've been on these forums a long time and I've read how you've run yourself ragged doing stuff for your daughter. I know the accusation is unfounded, so do you and so do a lot of other people. Let that do for now, even if you have to wrap your phone in cling film and put it in a Tupperware box outside he back door to stop yourself from answering.0 -
Lots of posts to catch up on!
Later this morning DD and DS go away with their dad for a week so I might manage to find some time for me (and have a sneaky clear out of their rooms while they're not here to decide "You can't get rid of that, I need it"" I don't really like them going away (house too quiet, and I get to do the washing and ironing, pack the suitcase, unpack the suitcase and do more washing and ironing when they get back but I don't go anywhere - something fundamentally wrong here!) but it will give me some catch up time and then we'll have the rest of the summer holidays when they get back.
Time for a cup of tea, some toast and a final check on the suitcase before I drag them out of their pits (my pit actually, they both insisted on sleeping in my bed with me last night. Even with a king sized bed there's not a lot of room for me and two teenagers! :rotfl:).
Hope the sun is still shining wherever you are. Back later.0 -
*slinks in quietly*
Morning all - sorry for being MIA
I've been feeling a bit down and disillusioned with my current situation so have kept a low profile in both real and cyber life. One positive about being offline though is that I've managed to enjoy some of the lovely summer weather...makes a nice change and I'm hoping it's going to last a while yet
Lots to catch up on I see...hope everyone doing ok.
Hugs BW0 -
Thanks Cranky40, your post has helped more than you can know. Very wise perspective. I was all ready to drive off somewhere to get a phone single (bizarrely I can get texts but not send them) and reply, but I won't now. I'm also downloading an app that enables me to block numbers as my phone is so old in technology terms, it doesn't have that option.
I'm also off to see counsellor on tuesday, no doubt she will also put in perspective!0 -
Hey Byatt
Sorry to hear that you are having issues with DD againI'm glad that you find being here helps and we are here anytime you want to vent or talk or whatever
Have a dodgy hug :grouphug: x0 -

Thank you for the dodgy hug, always welcome even if dodgy.
Thank you all for being here for me, not sure what I would do without the hugs and the sage advice. :A
I've had another text, but could ignore it this time, I've also got the app for blocking, had to pop home to download it, as such poor reception here. Looks very good, now to see if it works. I wanted to see My-boy cat as I miss him, even with a lovely cat in residence.
Now off to do my WTC, they are due in next week as they keep telling me,, but I have got a doughnut to reward myself once done!0 -
Well that was easy! Doing the WTC I mean...I've put it off and put it off, and it was done in 5 mins and completed online!
It seems the less income you have the easier it is :rotfl:
I've watered all the plants outside, had a further mooch around the garden, and planned a catio if it was my place, it started off small...but then I would probably let my moggie out anyway.
Blisteringly hot here. :cool:0 -
That's always the way, Byatt. The things we put off doing thinking they will be difficult, rarely are. Still, good to get it done and out of the way.
Today was the first time I have tried to put flea treatment on my two young ones. I had thought ginger fluffy was difficult to treat. No more. He is a doddle compared to the young black one. I have scratches everywhere - not helped by wearing a sleeveless dress while trying to do the deed! It took two goes to get it all on as he attacked and then ran off. Has been in for food since but really wary of getting anywhere near me when normally he comes up purring to be stroked. Hopefully he will forgive me soon. I feel a really bad cat servant but it had to be done as he had started scratching.
(wanders off, dripping blood, feeling mean) ...0 -
Evening peeps
Lottery winner here... a massive £2.90 :rotfl:
Not quite enough for me to give up work but I'm stupidly chuffed for some reason... think it's because this week has been bleak and I'm trying to remember to appreciate even the smallest of things.
Phew it's warm...I've been pottering around in the garden but had to come inside and cool down for a while
Byatt - well done on on the wtc...always nice to know you have gotten a dreaded job out of the way
RPP - ouch! I'm sure your fur baby will come round soon
Trying to figure out what to have for tea. I lose all inspiration in the hot weather and tend to eat mainly cold meats and salad.. oh and plenty of ice creamWhat have you guys been eating?

Hi Rachelja,
I've not been on this forum for a while so sorry for the late response.
I've no idea where you live but the cat rescue we got our cat from (Yorkshire Cat Rescue in Haworth) often take in pregnant cats that have been dumped and cats that have been dumped with their kittens. Our cat was one that had been dumped with her kittens.
They have a few kittens on their website at the moment but often the kittens don't get put on the website as they have already found potential owners before they are old to leave their Mum. So the best thing to do often is to ring and see if they have any litters of kittens or if they can let you know when they have.
They do allow adoptions from outside the immediate area so it could be worth a try if you are not too far away. They do a fantastic job and are really helpful.
