    Fingers crossed :o
  • LB - thanks for the picture. She is gorgeous. Love that she is finding her voice.

I tried to get a photo of two of mine yesterday but didn't quite manage it. I have a rockery and there was ginger fluffy boy curled up in the sun with Billy (the new black and white one) curled in just the same way next to him. Of course, by the time I approached with the camera fluffy got up and came to see what I wanted - although Billy just laid there and blinked at me sleepily!

I'm with you on getting your kitten neutered. The excuse of "can't afford it" doesn't wash with me. If you can't afford to get the cat neutered, then you can't afford to have a cat. Okay, yes you hope your new family member will be healthy, but you have to have enough room in the budget in case something happens. I don't have pet insurance, as it is too expensive with the four of them, but I do put money away each month just in case.

Also, there are the annual jabs and regular flea treatments and worming. If you have a kitten from the rescue centre I got mine from, you have to sign to say it will be neutered and there is a form for your vet to sign and return to confirm it has been done. It wasn't an issue with my latest two as they had been done while waiting for me to find them. I feel so sorry for all those still waiting for a forever home, but four is enough (although I have had five in the past).

RPP, the town where the Beehive is, well their cat protection people are asking for volunteers to foster cats and kittens. :D

I'm almost tempted but my place is so small I couldn't separate them from MyBoycat, plus they can't go outside.

The belly dancing poster I found is the same for the Beehive as it is for my town. Haven't called her yet though.

It's lovely weather for the most part, have had the storms but slept through most of them. I'm having another clear out selling on FB, and have sold 3 items (largish) already, I just have to stop bringing more stuff in

I love that pic LB. :D
  • Byatt - yes, I'd seen the appeal for cat foster homes. Have been thinking about it seriously but am also planning a holiday so thought it would be best (if I decide to do it) to leave it till after that. I worry that I will get too attached to them though. I guess it might be as well to give them a call and chat about it some time.

  • Lovely photo LB - though not helping with my kitten envy :D
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

It's quiet on here....hope that means people busy with nice stuff.

Just popping in to say Hi really as busy with work at the moment. Nothing startling happening here, Asbo pinched my tea (anyone else's cat do this?) this morning.

I MAY actually be getting some tomatoes!!....time will tell, the peppers are still growing except the plant LB got rid of as was dying anyway (over watered). There aren't lots of tomatoes as yet.....so it may be a case of photographing any that make it.....and inviting someone round for a tomato sarnie to cellebrate.....lol.

Vile work is............vile. However, to be fair the ward is ruddy boiling hot, so i'm not surprised everyone has an irritable edge at the moment. I'm going to pop into tecso on the way in as I can get 24 chock-ices for 3 smackeroonies...may make people feel a bit better.

The downside of doing this is that any LD type patients we may have in then immediately think I have an endless supply of the things and keep asking me all night for them...bless. We don't have a freezer on the ward (which I think is ridiculous)....otherwise I would take more in for them when the weather is like this....as it really isn't good for anyone.

Right, off to the coal face soon, hope everyone is ok.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.
  • Yes, it is quiet on here lately - have all of us with kids broken up now?

I'm on day 3 of the holidays, & already broke :D. My two would love nothing more than to be left alone in front of the TV all day, scattering junk food wrappers all around the living room, & they can't understand why I'm not too keen on that :rotfl:

So yesterday we hit the small city to collect DS's new glasses & buy underwear, new shoes & trousers for DS (what do boys do to their shoes?). Also then had to get something for DD as "it isn't fair if you just buy for him" (that worked when they were little, but think they should have grown out of now they're 14 &11 :D). Today we hit the big city to buy all the stuff we couldn't get yesterday - think I've ended up with a new pair of sunnies & that's it for me.

Not really managed to get many things organised in the house - have put 2 old bikes on freecycle (ha ha :T) & was expecting a man to collect them today but he hasn't turned up yet. Hope they go as I'll have a lot more room in the shed & won't have to keep vaulting over things to get in. I did mean to list a few other things too, but I'll need to find them first :rotfl:

Calicocat - I don't envy anyone stuck on a hot, stuffy ward. Choc ices are a lovely idea though. The cat-that-thinks-hes-mine would try & pinch my tea if I wasn't prepared for him. He used to pull the woe is me face when we ignored him, but we're made of stern stuff here.
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

Calicocat - When we had a cat he would swipe certain food if it suited him, the dog - if its food it expects it should have his name on it....

Been to town today, I must have the only 11 year old who hates clothes shopping.... manged to get her in peacocks and New Look, that was her limit... grand total ..
    2 pairs black legging
flowery skirt (must now be her only skirt in the wardrobe)
    Fav boxers...

Day was made longer by an error at opticians, rang yesterday to check time, 11.40am, - got there at 11.30 to be told it was 11.20 - apparently one of the staff has a problem with their past to too on the hour clock.... and wasn't the optician I thought was booked in, best bit downstairs room (on crutches - hence book well in advance), but they had a cancellation at 2pm with the optician I wanted. So we hit £1 shops and Wilko (£10 voucher) for DDs return to school stationary.... then nipped to pub for dinner £13 (2 gammon and chips, 2 drinks).

Opticians - new glasses - could be fun when there made up. Gone for one pr black front, but the arms are white with black stars.

Been warm today - gone windy tonight.... had grandad out with his new toy - got a remote control car, they say boys and toys!

Quite wierd reading on a f/b thread I'm on and some of them haven't broken up till 2mor, ours broke up Thurs last week (PD day on fri and mon this week), others broke up friday x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

I'm here, it's so hot I just have to blink and I sweat!

My Boy-cat and I just had synchronised yawning, not sure why he was yawning, he's slept all day :rotfl: I could leave a chicken on the table and he wouldn't touch it, he's the only cat I've had that doesn't bother with human food, although he does like a bit of cod without the batter from the chip shop.

Had a mixed day, took a client's cat to the vet to be pts, client couldn't face it and I didn't want him to be on his own. So...off I went, the vet itself is useless compassion wise, just not impressed at all. Weren't even set up although they knew why I was there.

then I popped to see local friend and had a lovely 2 hours putting the worlds to rights and petting bunnies. :D

Came home and hauled a chair upstairs, and that was it really, except for eating and drinking. :p

Calico, that's a lovely thing to do, taking in the choc ices. :A

DD drama is ongoing, but support have swooped in as it's got so bad. It's a relief to know she's hearing it from someone other than me, as it goes in one ear and out the other. I've withdrawn from it all after an awful weekend & I'm determined to think of me now, as there's nothing more I can do, she doesn't want me around at present, so that gives me a break.

I've been looking at holidays (still haven't got compensation yet but hey...), can't decide now whether a Greek island or a cultural Italy break is best.

Ive recently become an admin on a FB site, and members who don't like being told when they're wrong have already said I'm on a power trip and a bit of a !!!!!. I wanted to say only a "bit", :rotfl: but banned them instead! I may not do it for much longer, don't need the aggro  but I've come to the conclusion that people of a certain age really have issues with someone in "authority".

Byatt Sorry about the cat, its hard even where there not your own, but how insensitive of the vet.
Sorry about all the hassles your going though with DD, hopefully now support involved she may take some notice.

Any room in the suitcases, - I would fancy the greek Island,s, then never been to Italy either. When I had my car accidents, I did Mexico it was holiday of lifetime.

    Hope everyone ok. xx
