RPP.....have you got a pressure hose?...or could borrow one?
When I got the drain guys out all he did was blast every drain so assume same could be applied to a gutter? Might save you 100 smakeroonies if it works.
Stormy weather seems to have bypassed here, it didn't come this far north (or hasn't as yet), but it all looks bright and calm. LB is meant to be coming down to try out chimenea cooked food....so the storm will probably land then....lol.
Edit...or anyone with drain rods as they are bendy and could dislodge a blockageYep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
The circumstances/location (in my own garden no doubt and only a tree that will ever be tiny) are such that I am wondering about whether its damage or "damage", courtesy of Awkward Neighbour. Hopefully I'm just being a bit too "worried" about it all and it was ordinary damage okay. I shall be keeping a very close eye on it from here on in and its successor, so I am better able to pinpoint whats what.
Fingers crossed its just a bit of a weak tree and was a couple of Acts of God involved, as I really don't want to contemplate the alternative too much...
Just my fallback position if "lightning strikes three times" (ie at successor tree as well) would be a further successor tree and a security camera very obviously in position (cheaper than tree after tree after tree after tree etc).
You just heard the sound of a "foot being put down very firmly":rotfl:0 -
If the tree had been hit by lightening would it not be obvious, as in scorched?
Also, you can get fake cameras quite cheap for now as a deterant ?, when I had a azzhole neighbour I had a fake one and real one put in, it was hilarious watching her making faces at the fake one, she had no idea where the real one was.
In fact, I might get a couple for here eventually...although most neighbours seem very aware of what's going on and are like a living camera so to speak.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
"Lightning striking 3 times" as in a figure of speech (aka same thing happening 3 times). Apologies...should have been clearer.
I understand there are indeed fake cameras and real ones. Fingers crossed the successor tree stays intact and I don't have to get a successor to the successor. If I did, I'd get a real camera at that point and have it set pointing straight at it for as long as AN is in residence.
Anyway, if it was "damage", rather than Act of God, then hopefully my just carefully (and very obviously) inspecting the tree each time I go out or return home should be noticed and that would be the end of that anyway (ie deterrent factor).0 -
Morning All,
Just been skim reading the past week...hello to all the newbies and lurkers...lovely of you to join us.
Morning to the "Oldies", too.
Not actually got anything to say of any value really - same old same old for me.
But on the subject of awkward neighbours, I have two - a horrible lottie neighbour who I've complained to the PC about leaving his lottie for the last year or more - what a mess. They issued him a warning, but I know he has friends on the Pc so he will know I've complained (again), and yesterday, I thought he'd been poisoning my chooks, as they were passing neon blue poop!
Mind, talk about jumping to conclusions, but I couldn't think of any blue food they could possibly have had....but rat poison is the same bright blue.
Came home, shaking with fright, to google it and find that red cabbage = blue poop...hallelujah! The girls had a little red cabbage in a very much reduced bag of salad the night before.
I feel such a chump! :rotfl:
Second horrible neighbour has a house a couple of doors from me, and we were at daggers drawn over parking when he actually lived in the house. Now he visits the house to work on it, and mostly has behaved himself, but today, he's taken my other neighbour's parking space. She has come back and parked right up against his car, so he can't get into it without asking her to move. Nice one! :T But bloomin heck, why does he feel the need to upset people?
I need to live on a desert island, just me, the pusses and the chooks with occasional visitors, bringing copious supplies of wine and chocolate. Oh and cabbages (not red :rotfl:) for the girls, and cat treats for the pusses.
Only then, will I be happy. Neighbour free must be bliss!
We haven't had the heat quite as much as the rest of you, so storms haven't really figured, but it is raining just in time for Calico's chimenea extravaganza...must go and dig out my waterproofs :rotfl:
Have a good day, all.
LB xx0 -
Desert island would indeed be good LB.
Personally, I'm just mentally noting that AN here does seem to have been "blocked in" rather a lot recently (not me...yer honour...as I don't have a car) and am making no comment whatsoever about that (where I would have sympathised etc if they had been a reasonable person). They turn up everywhere don't they? (unfortunately)...
Good to see you "appearing" and hoping you are feeling a bit better now?
Ah yes...the chiminea and will be interested on your respective viewpoints about how well that has worked out after you have both road-tested it...0 -
For those that missed the storms - ur lucky - we're midlands based at one stage I counted 10 blasts of thunder the lightening was lightening up the room and the rain thought I was in India in the monsoon season - we're down to a light rain at the mo xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0

Ah...I can be very dense you know, especially when reading on a mobile(postage stamp) , was also WAY to cryptic for me, i'm a tell it how it is chick.
If it's vandalism.....thats not on, and take steps to solve this!!
As you aren't working, and you possibly have time for a pet?..if you wanted one.....a GSD wouldn't go amiss then.
Even the odd cat (less work) can elude to intruders.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
