Laundry definitely counts as doing something in my book, same as hoovering.
Glad to hear your eye is still doing well.
And moaning is allowed.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
Laundry and hoovering definitely count as chores, as does anything else you have to do rather than choose to do (so helping DD and DS with exam revision is also a chore, GCSE maths and science anyone?
).
Back to work today but I don't work Wednesday's so a nice short week for me. Counting down now to the school summer holidays.
Thanks BW for the reminder it is now June - forgot to renew my car tax - all done now online.
Can't believe DD leaves high school on Thursday  (or for whatever daft reason why I keep crying about it)0 -
Ah MummyBobble, your little girl is growing up. No wonder you're emotional
. It's allowed
. Hope all goes well on the day.
Just a quickie post from me as should be working, but just want to report that after a huge amount of work, my Henzilla is no more. Clearly prison is the way to go in future, albeit a prison with personal cabbage and being hand fed strawberries and grapes (she's decided she likes these now). It's lovely to have my happy Bluebelle back :T
Wee Baby-Cat is still a complete affectionate sweetie, though is turning her attention to wires and curtains, neither of which will stand a chance. Young-Boy-Cat sat with "arms folded" this morning, watching her. He even craned his neck to keep watching her when she went out of sight, but did he intervene...? Did he 'eck as like. And how many times have I told him he is in charge?
:rotfl:
YBC is feeling a bit poorly, I think. Not wanting to eat last night and this morning, even his favourite in the whole world - Tuna . Hoping not needing a trip to the vets this evening...
Hope all is well with you folks

Send the maths over here...I love maths! Hours of fun helping my 2 with their GCSE Maths homework and past papers:rotfl:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
LB, glad to hear Bluebelle has come round to your way of thinking, long may it continue :j. Hope YBC is better this morning.
Pixiechick, you can not only have the maths, you can also have DD. I think I could cope with the maths if they still did it the way they did in the dark ages when I was at school. I'm sure they've invented new names for everything, and as for these flipping scientific calculators - technology definitely isn't my strong point :rotfl: One exam today, finishes school tomorrow, then two science and two maths papers next week last one on Friday 13th
Have a good day everyone (mine apparently is going to be spent buying form tutor/teacher presents and cards for tomorrow :j(because I clearly have nothing else to do, and out of the 26 children in her form I'm the only parent who can do it...).0 -

I can help with the science - doing some yesterday with DD (bit like pulling teeth for her but I enjoyed it :rotfl:). Not so keen on the maths though - I can "do it" but can't explain it to her in a way she understands.
Feeling a bit down as I had a lovely, peaceful half term away from home & having a much needed rest. But (as with all of us singlies) I came home to all the stuff that needed doing before I left, & I'm back to work & arguing with my ex about all the mistakes I'm making in my parenting (as his is perfect in his eyes ) & - well, its all got a bit much. But I've had some chocolate & am feeling a little happier.....
and yes, I've caught up with the posts about comfort eating/drinking but I'm ignoring them for tonight.
Hope all are doing well & we're not really in for lots of rain.
Delighted to hear about your new arrival LB - so jealous!& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

JKS,

play this really loud, as you dance around the house...:D
I would suggest that you don't argue with ex, it's not easy I know, but it's a power play, stop playing the game that he is dictating...he wants to feel better about himself by putting you down. Hugs.0 -
I'm liking this idea. DD's last four exams next week are science and maths so I'm going to wrap her in brown paper and post her to Pixichick who can then re post her on to JKS.
Byatt - with you on not arguing with the ex. In my case he's not got a clue what's going on (and doesn't actually want to know in case he has to do anything), takes the credit for whatever is going well but puts no effort in himself . After my very unfortunate meltdown last year one of the hardest things for me to learn from my counselor was that I not only needed to stop blaming myself for other peoples behaviour (as in "Excuse me, but you chose to do that, I didn't make you do it"), but also to try to give myself the credit for what I was doing. If my children are happy, clean, dressed and fed I am doing something right. So please JKS give yourself the credit you deserve :T. Being a parent is not easy.
Anyway, DD has now left high school. Having been a form delegate for five years, learner officer, sports captain, deputy head girl, represented school at conferences, been a youth ambassador for the schools sports partnership (including speaking at the opening event in 2012 when the Olympic Torch was coming through town) she's feeling a little bit lost at not being part of it any more. After lots of tears (both of us), I've told her that it's not the end of the book, just the beginning of the next chapter.
Next week I'm meeting with DS's form tutor to discuss his lack of motivation and poor attitude (that's DS, not his form tutor!).
Oh my life, I'm sure I didn't sign up for this when I had children :eek:0 -
Love this thread - can I join?
Am a singlie (love that - sounds better than single). And I live in a house which needs a lot of renovations!! Nothing major but things like painting, skirting... Would like to do it all myself - but am no Handy Hariette. Will just have to learn I suppose. Am also not willing to invest much as it is not my house - I get to use it as part of my job but I will probably be here for a few more years till I have paid off my mortgage in the UK and gotten a good savings pot so I can go back home!
The less I spend the sooner I can get out of here. Already found loads of great stuff on the old style boards.Mortgage March 2013: [STRIKE]£55,956 [/STRIKE]£38,500 (aim to pay off by 2020)
Overpay aim 2013: £9,974/ £5,000 :T:T:T
Overpay aim 2014: £3,800/£12,000
Kitchen and curtain fund: €1,000 / €4,000
Emergency fund: €1,000 / €2,0000 -
Hiya, ifatfirst...:)0
