Ooh...go on ...Calico...give us a laugh and post up a link to it...

I do recall an article (many years back now) on how to fail a job interview. I've had spells of unemployment, but honestly was seriously trying to get a job each time, but I remembered that article just in case I had to attend an interview for a job that I couldn't realistically take (eg one that would have involved health hazards at work:mad::eek:). The gist of it was how to fill in the form the, then, DHSS gave us all re our "job requirements".

Fast forward over 20 years later and I can imagine many in the current job-seeking generation thinking "Dream on" about what to us were/are normal everyday job requirements and I can sympathise...

It must be awful to be in a position where one generations Normal Everyday That's How Things Are have become "Dream City" for many in the next one down....

I can't post links on a mobile...but if I get a chance tonight at work i'll zip back with some of the choicest bits of advice.....some people even get a 'garden holiday'........that sounds good to e, but would never happen with who I work for...lol.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

Phew.....car taxed and passed MOT, so i'm not about to get arrested.

Somehow fell into the second hand furniture shop on way back from garage and have bagged 6 chairs for dining room, not what I had planned on getting to be honest but will do for now until I find what I fancy, plus negotiated an ultra cheap price and can make covers for them , they will be arriving in a couple of hours or so...plus may get a bit more off if they want the 4 chairs I have. ...if not will give to the local community link project.

Still haven't been to sleep yet after work and now starting to flag to put it mildly...dont want to completely get past the 'sleep' feeling or will then go through that and not sleep until tomorrow.

On the assumption I get to go to bed in the next couple of hours i'll be going to see the thumbs gang tomorrow morning at the pet shop, weather looks to be good so they should be there lying about on top of the hutches and generally seeking an audience.

I'm off for the weekend so can't wait. Plan is to go see LB's girls (and the new addition of course), and I have to give Bluebelle a bath to cool her down apparently she is broody and needs her temp taking down a peg or two....i can't wait....does this again mean I need to get out more??.....lol....and I have to get them a melon to see if they 'do' melon...(my uncles used to love honeydew)

    Have a good weekend folks.

Can I come and share my news that's cheered me up today?! The ex and I are getting £473 each from the bank for a mis sold ppi policy from when we were married about 8 years ago:beer: Should have it in the next few weeks:D

May has been a very expensive month, with my car costing £350 for service& getting through mot and both the girls birthdays...so almost £500 will be most welcome:j

I've had a lovely afternoon sat on the sofa with my kindle. A nice end to half term:D And my eldest thinks she has finally found a weekend job....she's going in for a couple of hours on Sunday to fill in forms and see if she's happy with the work (just waiting on tables)... But fingers crossed:)
I really need to sort out a new signature!

Good news Pixiechick....more dosh is always welcome isn't it...and good luck for DD and the job.

I might text LB and see if the easier option is for me to go and get a cheap kids paddling pool at b n m's on the way up..you can probably get one for a fiver..they might like that mightn't they...???, and might be easier than me trying to pin a hen in a bucket of water or whatever she has planned. I might google if hens like paddling pools....lol.......

Lol I now have a mental picture of a paddling pool with a slide going into it and the hens fleeing down it into pool.....i think I need sleep.

Right off to bed to try and kip before I go past it and end up awake all night and want to stay in all weekend.

Oh, yes! Good fortune is always fab news! well done, Pixiechick!

I am having the laziest night I have had in a long time. Checked on the girls earlier, turfed Bluebelle off the eggs and nest, got them sorted for the night, and am trusting them to go to bed sensibly on their own

Not sure on the whole paddling pool for girls suggestion - not enough room for a start, so we'll try a washing up bowl (Bluebelle will then be in a controlled "pool"), and if they enjoy it, and if I build a hen run extension, then maybe they can have a paddling pool...maybe :rotfl:

As for the furry-purries, oh my goodness, I am head over heels in love :p. My new wee kitten is one of the sweetest, most affectionate little girls I have ever had the pleasure of looking after. She has me and Young-Boy-Cat wrapped around her tiny velvety black paws:o. Old-Boy-Cat is a slightly harder nut to crack, but he is very tolerant of her, and Millie just needs to realise that he would sell his soul for a taste of her kitten food, and she could very easily bribe him, :rotfl:

Honestly, I couldn't have made a better, if rather spontaneous, decision to get this little kitten.

Tonight, we have all mostly been lying on the spare bed in the sunshine, watching hot air balloons wafting over the roof tops, purring at each other, and having the best kitten/cat cuddles. :p

Young-Boy-Cat was overjoyed to see her tonight (she is in the spare room during the day), and kissed/groomed her. Just two days ago, he was overwhelmed and anxious/frightened of her, and now he loves her.:D

So, a lovely weekend full of pets and a bit of sunshine and friendly help cooling hormonal hen from Calicocat beckons. And this evening, I feel more relaxed and content than I have done for a long long time.

    I luvs Friday nights

Hope you all have lovely plans....? Enjoy this weekend, whatever your plans are.

    LB xx

Aw! to the latest furry purry LB:D

    Glad she's settling in.

My mental pictures of hens swimming is LOL. I should be an artist. I can just picture the sketch I could do in my mind of one hen there laying wings spread lazily lolling in a washing-up bowl, cigar in one hand and drink in the other and a big grin on its face. I hope you've got a little mini sunlounger for lolling on afterwards (the hen...not you....:rotfl:).

Plans for the weekend here revolve around The Big Clean-Up (as its just finishing touches stuff to do now on The Big House Renovation). Musta been the world's most unwilling house renovation project ever...

Still trying to figure out how to deal with Marauding Neighbour (ie a bit of my garden nicked by them at the moment and they generally have a tendency to say that things ARE the way they would like them to be). At least it ain't personal....as they are like that with everyone and I've heard a few astonishing tales about them from other people, who have been ordered around/inveigled/etc into doing what MN wants...Have finally thought up a suitable name for MN. I shall call them The Pirate Chief (seems appropriate for someone who is a land thief and thinks they're in charge of everything). Wonder if I'll find any hidden doubloons on my land..

Next week = The Walks. Yay! That is, I can start exploring the area more thoroughly. I've only been waiting for that for month after month after......

Looking like a lovely day here, fingers crossed it stays this way. Might make me a tad more inclined to do something useful (or maybe sit in the garden with a glass of something cold  ).

LB and Calico, have fun bathing the chickens, I have a feeling this could be quite an experience... :rotfl:

Is it just me, or are we all obsessed with cats and chickens? DD's friends chickens are gorgeous, though one is (rather worryingly) named KFC

    Lol......KFC..!!

Also liking the vision of the wings out and cigar......lol.

It better not rain or i'll be soaked.....i may be soaked anyway.

Whole sleeping early plan went pete-tong. Mate phoned to say dog being put down, husband in tears, mate in shock, so ended up driving to see them in my PJ's and got back home and to bed late.

That's the horrid bit about having animals.

Anyhow, don't want to start the thread today with horrid news. I am going to be an utter slob today (well no point in getting hair/face done etc to end up covered in chicken mud), so will get up in a bit, shove some clothes on, maybe brush hair, go get a melon, petrol, and go up to LB'S...(seeing as she doesn't want a paddling pool...honestly some people just don't see things my way..lol) Must come home at a decent time as also need to do chores here as didn't really do much last time off as kept myself busy to stay away from the vino.

I also don't know how as out or asleep, but place ends up quite messy during shifts at work...I obviously just throw things around the place.

Sunday I plan to make a fab chicken pie after flying to shops for some veg...and then just potter about and tidy.

Monday meeting a friend to go to camping shop to get stuff for festival weekend coming up soon.

No doubt will report back about bluebelle and the temp reducing exercise....no time to see the thumbs gang today I think, might nip in tomorrow as do need some cat food.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.
