Oh, goodness, Calico, take your time..the chooks, baby-cat and I are going nowhere. How awfully sad for you and your friends
. It is the really hard part of pet owning, and comes to us all. I dread it.
The nice side of going to the vets (if you ignore the money!) was taking baby-cat this morning to start her injections and be checked over. Clean bill of health, and lots of coo-ing over baby-cat. Home now, exhausted (baby-cat not me), so housework time while she's flaked out beside young-Boy-Cat upstairs.

So sorry Calico about your friend's dog
, it's a heart breaking time. You are such a good friend. :A
LB, delighted baby-cat had clean bill of health and love the visual of YBC and b-c flaked out by each other.0 -

Morning everyone
Sorry for being MIA - this week has kinda kicked my buttAlso can you believe that May is alsmost over?
I seem to have missed so much this week...
LB - congrats on the new family member. Glad to hear she is settling in well. LOL @ chicken bathing images
Calicocat - glad to hear the car passed it's MOT - always a bonus. Hugs for the days sad news
Pixiechick - well done on the PPI payout :T
Boddy - welcome back
General hi's also to MITSTM , RPP, MummbyBobble, Byatt, Greenbee
Apologies if there is anyone/anything I've missed but my memory has yet to wake up this morning
I need to get some jobs done in the garden today - weather permitting. Dry so far at least so that's a plus point.
Feeling very lethergic.... anyone want to come and cook me breakfast? :rotfl:
BW
p.s - Grousescot - if you are reading - how are things?0 -
Anyone appeared to cook that breakfast yet Bookworm? or was it DIY....a blimmin' again...?:rotfl:
I've been admiring the "handiwork" again re House Renovation Project and done some of The Big Clean-Up. Looking forward to Life As Normal soon:). Right...must away and iron me some curtains to put back up again at Most Recent Room. House is now showing some signs of Normality (racks brains to try and remember what Normality looks like for a house...it's been so long....).
Have been busily cleaning-up quite a bit to date, with all positive intentions in there (as yet more plaster dust was cleaned-off something or other) that "This will be a Home to me. I will be happy here". Am working on it...0 -
Nope as is most often the case...I had to do it myself
Things sound like they are moving on well with your house renovation. Is it satisfying seeing what has changed?0 -
I think LB needs to keep an eye on you while you're bathing her chickens...
Lol.......
No chance of me eating 'the girls'.....i'm more likely to take them on holiday as eat them....or buy them a paddling pool....lol.
I've had a lovely day!!...totally loved messing about with the hens, not too sure how well the cool baths will work, being out of the hen house may have more impact...time will tell.
The girls have been fanning out and sunbathing....bluebelle fanned out her aris to dry that after i'd had her in her cooling pool a couple of times.
I was thinking sulphur block in water??...dont know if that works for chooks though if anyone else here does.
The girls have had melon, grass I picked, and some marigolds for brunch....picked some grass for the guys nextdoor too as they looked peckish.
Had a lovely frittata for lunch with salad, made with of course happy eggs.
New addition is fab, but was quite sleepy due to sun pouring in onto bed, probably injections too....as I was leaving there was a pile of 3 cats in the sun on the bed...OBC didn't know Millie was there so bopped her...but then couldn't be bothered so just moved hos head oit of her way and went back to being curled up.
I could spend every day messing about doing that....
Glad the house is coming together MTSTM....you will love it when it's all clean and tidy....not too long now by the sounds of it.
Once home i've re-potted a couple of herbs, put canes in the peppers, sorted and cleaned the camping stuff for festival coming up soon. Cleaned one half of kitchen and done washing.
All in all a very productive day. I think being outside has helped me too...I spend too much time indoors for sure. I must make myself be outside more...make a real effort to make this happen.
Hope everyone is good.
Off to make the sauce for the pie I think now (less to do tomorrow then for a good slob day).
Might call in to see how friends are tomorrow...or not...they may just be wanting to be on their own for a while.....i know I did.
Weather here meant to be pants tomorrow (or that's what they said this morning)...so tomorrow will hoover (maybe)...go to cat shop and see what's happening down there, make pie..... then possibly be in a vegetative state and watch a movie. If the weather is good, will do something in garden to get me outside for a few hours.
Work was better last week, so don't feel the need to drown my sorrows these days off....long may that last!Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
Is quite envious Calico re chicken and !!!!!cat antics going on here...:(
"Bluebelle fanning out her arris"....= LOL:rotfl:
Sounds like it was a good day:)
Re the Big House Renovation Project....am currently crossing fingers that AN has now "got the measure of me" and won't create any further problems. They are currently making with the small talk re weather/innocuous comments re the garden alert....so am prepared to forgive and forget re their attempt to continue with the "nicking my land" scenario they started up with a previous owner if all is "put right". I'm used to being underestimated....to start with :rotfl:...and no longer take it personally when A.N. Other does so. Fingers crossed all will resolve calmly/peaceably/etc now that they have (belatedly) "got my measure" eh and we can get back to Plan A.
Plan A in my case boiling down to "Fit in/be friendly/look out for and all is well" type scenario....
Send the positive vibes that there is no more aggro please...0 -
Aye, it's been a good outdoor day. Good fun, and such a laugh when the little bench seat lurched to one side and Calico and water nearly went with it. :rotfl:
Sorry, i'm not laughing, honestly
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I'm also not convinced by the chicken dunking. Just as Calico left, I went to check on her, and there she was, clucking away, standing on the ladder outside the closed hen house, clearly just waiting to be allowed back on the nest.:(
So, she got dunked again
I'll go back soon and see how she is, and if it hasn't worked then I'll have to go and buy a pet cage, and she'll have to live in that until this hormonal surge leaves her. Today, she had stopped the other chickens getting into the nest box, result being that one egg was laid out in the run, then Coco was stressed as she desperately needed to lay an egg (luckily, I arrived and turfed BB off, so she was ok), and then, when Maisie was actually laying, BB got back in and was literally trying to turf her out.
Can't go on like this, that's for sure, so tomorrow is solitary confinement if she's still the same
Who knew chickens could be so challenging? :rotfl:
I counted all my girls before Calico left, just in case :rotfl:
Baby-Cat is still asleep. She has been up for a short time, had cuddles, eaten, but mostly been asleep. When I stroke her, she stretches towards me with her eyes closed, purring, but she obviously needs to sleep.
Gawd help me when all 3 wake up in an hour or two and want to play :rotfl:
Hope you've all had good weather to get out and about or even just move those pesky chores on. Tomorrow isn't going to be as nice, but I'm certainly not expecting a washout, so hope to get some fresh air again. I feel so much better for fresh air.
I've turned into "me mother"
:rotfl:
