I find it much harder to get motivated when it's dull and raining.
I've been seeing a pwp who has helped me a lot, one thing that's definitely worked is to plan the week ahead with things that need doing but also add in some me time.
I'm not sure how well it will work when I don't have to report back to him after next week but I'm going to carry on with it and see how it goes.

    A pwp?

Yes, I plan ahead, too. Poss far too much in that I sometimes forget to enjoy today :o, so I am trying to be more mindful of what I am dong now, too. It takes some effort though!! :rotfl:

The idea of rewards is a good one, though MTSTM. I've done that subconsciously today by buying a nice organic steak (reduced naturally ;)) for dinner, and I've also treated myself to a melon plant, a free newspaper at Waitrose, and some reduced plant pots for hanging on a trellis...very pretty and a bargain as a teeny bit bashed. :money:

Is throwing it down now. My girls are all staying in the dry. I have only two eggs today, as the third fell on the floor as I opened the nest box :(, and the fourth is still being brewed by Mabel, who frankly is slacking today :rotfl: and much more interested in what treats I might have for her.

It's cold now, too, so I have my fleecy dressing gown on over my scruffs. I refuse to even think about the heating or a fire when it's nearly summer. This time last week, we were baking in heat

    Ah, thank you!

Sounds useful, and hopefully some good practical advice. Think we could all use a bit of that.

    Good afternoon all

Well it's been raining all day here. Def no garden jobs for me.

I have cleaned the house and tidied up in readiness for some visitors tomorrow. I have even baked 2 cakes  Had a slight mishap with the first one as it was meant to be madeira cake but I accidentally used vanilla essence instead of lemon :o mind you still tastes ok so think I have got away with it :rotfl:. The other cake was chocolate and no mishaps with that one. Anyone wanna cuppa :coffee: and a slice?

I'm another one that uses little 'rewards' in order to get myself going on a low day. I definitely think that contact with others also really helps - electronically is fine if not in person.

    :)

BW, I'll have a slice of both too...:D:o

My mood has dropped and the carp eating has started, I popped out to shop just to get a couple of things...ahem, crisps and some apple puffs found their way home...very aware that I eat for comfort and the awful weather doesn't help, it's still raining here, webbed feet R us!

I've heard the County Show cancelled 2 days, so loads of money lost.

I unfortunately "reward" myself with food, hence the 2 slices of cake from BW. :o

My-Boy cat came waltzing down for tea at 2ish, so he quickly got into his new routine from when friend came to feed and water him!

My mood has dropped too, as it's getting nearer to the day when I start my shifts again and I can't make up my mind what to do for the best with it. I was alright when out and about in durham...but brooding about it now back home.

Weather here has been pants too, if I can't motivate myself I just potter with herbs these days....or cook something.

I might motivate myself to do some washing though in a moment, and at least tidy the kitchen.....maybe.

In a few weeks time I have a week of physical training.....training that I have managed to sneakily avoid the last 3 years. I'm now a stone heavier probably then when I last did it...and seriously unfit.....i'm dreading it....it will practically kill me.

So my motivation should be to get the rowing machine out of the flipping shed and get moving....but so far I have just thought about it and machine is still in shed. I wish I could get motivated to do this as I really need to.

Edit....i have Hen pressie for you LB, that should cheer you up.....well it's for you...but to do with hens.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.
