Yeah right, that's what I vowed too, but I had a very naughty car that kept driving over to the breeders smallholding, nuffin to do with me guv

mum2one, hope they identify and sort out the problem quickly.

BW, I feel your pain, have a hug from me.

DD drove me nuts tonight but have bitten my tongue. I put supper in the slow cooker this morning - which she knew about. got home from work and did the roasties and veg to go with it. Had a text from her to say she was just nipping in to a shop to get a birthday card - this was just before 6pm.

7.30 and she still wasn't home so I started to serve up and thought she could just zap hers to warm it again. 7.45 she arrives and there was no 'sorry i'm a bit late', she said 'oh i'm not that late' and went upstairs.

she ate her supper then went upstairs, I feel a bit taken for granted atm so called upstairs and said she could do the washing up.

LB have fun with your new girls, they'll keep you busy. Celebrate your dad's birthday, it's still a special day for you xx

Mum2one, DS had an allergic reaction to "something" when he was a toddler at nursery. I was called to pick him up and burst into tears when I saw him, his face, eyes and lips were swollen and he had vivid red weals all over. The nursery manager commented that I "wouldn't be much use in an emergency" and that it "had been good for one of trainees to deal with a reaction". :eek:Guess who changed nursery very quickly! As we didn't know exactly what he'd been in contact with the hospital only tested for the 10 most common allergens. Testing only showed an egg allergy (although he also had a reaction to the anesthetic cream). We went back when he was 6 and he had grown out of his egg allergy. :j

Anyway it's Saturday. I've got DD and DS because their dad's on holiday (again) but I don't mind because it makes it feel like a long weekend if they're here. Just a shame it's chucking it down. Suggests to me that rubbish food and movies may be the way to go :D

Mummybobble, are you sure your ex and mine aren't one and the same?!:rotfl:

Mine's always on holiday which I find really weird as when we were together he showed no interest at all! Couldn't have organised a pi$$ up in a brewery.

The weather here is like winter today, it was lovely yesterday, then rained all night, now windy and cold, brrrr.

Still organising my kitchen, have moved things around, not sure if it looks better or not yet, as still messy.

I was using the anti mould stuff you get over the counter, I assumed because it was OTC stuff, it was relatively harmless but after I sprayed everywhere, I then read the instructions (:o), it sounds blooming lethal, I hadn't worn gloves or anything!

Calicocat, missing you, hope you're ok...:A

My DD's bunnies were picked up this week, and I'm totally besotted as is she...they are adorable. :D

    Hi all

Fleeting visit from me as the girls are giving me a nightmare time..dreadful bullying from both Bluebelle and Coco, both trying to pull feathers out. At first, they "just" attacked poor Mabel (the beautiful and very sweet/docile Barnevelder), and it looked like Maisie (the equally gorgeous Speckledy) had slotted right in with no trouble. But no! Coco had hold of Maisie by her feathers, too!

So, Coco is in solitary confinement in a very makeshift temp run within the main run, which for some strange reason means Bluebelle seem to behave herself (perhaps because she is in the minority?). Bluebelle was in solitary for a couple of hours earlier this morning (I was there before dawn to build the temp run as Bluebelle was so bad last night and I knew I needed to isolate her....she escaped after a couple of hours but it does seem to have calmed her a little).

I wanted a distraction from my pain of missing my Dad, and boy have I got it...in spades .

Have been up since 4am and just getting a cuppa now  No chance of a restful time or thinking of celebrating Dad's birthday. Must do some housework...Old-boy-cat was sick (on my bed naturally) so I MUST do something about that.

Me and restful weekends...nah! No chance...I can dream, though.

    LB xx

    Ooh dear re those chickens!

I did think "Wonder how the oldsters will accept the newcomers <concern><concern>" but what do I know? I've never had chickens.

Guess this is what is meant by the "pecking order", ie chickens is where it came from and the first 2 thought they "ruled the roost".

Hope it sorts itself out and their won't be any more feathers flying.

EDIT: there is a very long thread on here somewhere about keeping chickens. There might be some useful ideas on this on there.
