I'm in. Sorry I didn't get back to say thanks last week. So far today have s&s bathroom, did 30 minutes in kitchen so it's straight. Home made soup done for 5:2 fasting day and family tea in slow cooker. Spent 2 hours on phone calls 're tying up failed business. Half hour on business I'm closing down as its all too much for me to cope with.
Have done 30 minutes so far on my bedroom as would like it to be looking a lot nicer by the weekend. Also tidied lounge and quick vacuum. Can you tell I don't work Mondays?0 -
Hi all; I'm in, in my usual lupie fashion.
Hoppy Birdday Coffeequeen (ok, bit late, I know);)
Welcome to all our new Flyers.
Well, things haven't quite gone to plan, though progress is being made. I realised that bin day is back to Tuesday this week, so instead of our bedroom, I've been shifting stuff from the spare room (also technically a bedroom, though there's no bed in it):o Some of the stores therein have been brought through to the kitchen, decanted into the plastic boxes I use, and the packaging put in the pink bag for recycling. Also put the tiddly-widdly bit of washing powder that was in the bottom of the box into the top of the new box, so that's another bit of recycling gone.
I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed to be honest; not sure why. My arms and hands are really painful now, after the bit I've done - I seem to get less and less done before pain stops me in my tracks, which is rather distressing.:(
Hopefully, if I sit and go though my emails for a bit, I may be able to have another go in a while; I'm thinking I should concentrate on shifting whatever I can to get rid of things for recycling, from anywhere in the bungalow, as there's still room in the pink sack.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hugs all round.
Kitchen floor swept and mopped.
Kitchen sink given a thorough going over (and under).
Surfaces wiped down, including the hob, which really needed it.
Bathroom sanitary ware given a thorough clean and the shower-head has been soaked, scrubbed and rinsed.
All fluffy flat surfaces in the bedroom have been dusted, dog's bed shaken out, stuff rehomed. Nothing out on show can be CSed or binned which is a vast improvement on where I was a while ago.
One project that was cluttering up the bedroom has been shelved - back at the library when I eventually get there. 5 coathangers will be CSed because I don't like them - but I had to dig in a cupboard to get them out, so they don't really count for today's deep clean. Sponge baggy thing found for OH for his 'lectric toothbrush bits as per his request.
I still have my bedside tidy-bucket to sort and degibble, but that's it.Better is good enough.0 -
Lamewolf gentle hugs and so glad you have a doggie visitor to look forward to.
Fizz - well done to your DS, dental fear is a horrid thing but it sounds like he is on the right path
I've been doing DS3's bedroom, just a pile of stuff on his chair for me to go through with him when he gets home. Just having a break before deciding on my room or DS2's next.
DS3 just rang to say he is playing in a basketball match. So different from I don't want to go to school in the mornings. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
End of day update.
Room of doom - emptied.
Things that belong to DS all in his room for now - but put away apart from cricket bag!!!
Quilts and sleeping bags on top of bed until keep decision made re clean/keep or bin - everything else re-sorted and put away in correct place.
New terracotta wall pots hidden in under bed drawer - saves them getting broken - will be put up and filled in the spring.
CBS stuff and more bits to sell at antique fair (from DM estate - she passed away three years ago.) re-organised to take up less room.
Dust webs banished, skirtings dusted, room aired well and visible bits of floor hoovered.
Other things being re-homed - I decided to keep a medium grip bag rather than our biggest suitcase ( far too big now) which will need to come down from the loft to sell.
It all looks so much better - and the best thing is that I can now get to the window to open it without havin g to turn into a mountain goat!!!!!
Also - WUDUPA and DW
Washed and dried all towels incl bath mat
Iron/PA.
Hoovered landing
Did some more WWI research
Yes !!! This has been the best day ever - I just kept shutting the door on that room as it was such a mess. (it is only the small bedroom by the way I am not a miracle worker!!)
Thanks everyone for your support and hope you are also having a super day.

Hi there,
I found flylady a few years ago and I definitely live by some of the great tips. I'm glad to see there's a thread on here for it. Do I just say 'Im in?' and then follow your challenges for the day? Sounds brilliant!
Yep, that's pretty much it! It's not a contest - obviously if you can get a lot done then great, but equally don't beat yourself up if you can't!! I copy the suggestions onto Word and delete them as I do them and then at the end of the week delete those I haven't done.
Not done a lot from last year's list as out to osteopath this morning then met friends from Church for coffee, had lunch with DH, then paid stuff but just vacuumed all of downstairs.
Helen Jelly DH's uncle had a stent fitted and it really helped him. I haven't been on fred of late - has DH got a date for his big op yet? Horrid time for both of you right now.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Hospital with youngest has resulted in another appointment as he has been castes for splints. Only got a quick clean up done today and booked my tesco delivery for tomorrow and thanks to lame wolf just realised I need to add wash powder to it now lol. Cooking sausages for tea even though I hate cooking them as my challenge to lower my spending and they were in in the freezer.Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

I'm so behind now, I've given up for today and having a sit down instead!
Woeful progress:
Marvellous Monday Basics
W[STRIKE]ipe the kitchen sides (just what you can see)
Clean the kitchen sink, slosh some soda crystals and hotwater down
Hoover the floor[/STRIKE]
Bedroom Declutter
Today's aim is to deal with everything you can see without opening drawers/cupboards, looking under beds (don't worry that will come). For some this will be easy for others a huge challenge.
Imagine how you would like the room to be at the end of the week.
Now pick up an item (cloth in hand to remove the dust as you go) and ask youself:
Do you love it?
Do I use it?
Do you need it?
Take 3 large boxes or laundry baskets, anything which gets 3 yes votes goes in the to keep box. Anything which gets 3 No votes goes in the get rid of box. Now the tricky bit anything with some Yes votes you need to decide on whether you keep it or not. You can have a undecided box but try not to put too much in there (or you'll regret it later on in the week ) Try not to keep things just in case you may need them, because somebody gave it to you, because you feel you should love it.
The first 30 minutes is usually the most successful so get off to a good start and then have a break or your ability to make decisions will decrease.
NOTHING done in the spare room! To be fair the only things out are the Christmas decs (still ) and a spare duvet. Decs need repacking as I might have accidentally bought a few extras
Will do that tomorrow along with tomorrow's jobs as I have a totally free morning.
Also done today is 1 1/4 hours' exercise  and the weekly food shop so day not a total loss
Hugs to those who need them.

Well done to all of you who have done something today, however small. Brilliant progress JT2U.
I'm happy with what I've achieved and not too worn out to do a bit more tomorrow. Just going to put a few bits away and then make a start on dinner. I've a bit of a headache, ot enough fluids I think so a drink is in order too.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
2nd loads in both DW & WM and one load in TD. Bits & pieces picked up from all over the place. A bit of telly decluttered as well
Food delivery arrived and has been put away.
Had massive row with DD2 due to her wanting to go out this evening after saying her jobs were done. She must think I never walk in their bedroom :eek:
I've also phoned the lovely people at the c.s.a. The never ending chase for money owed to us continues
DD2 is hiding out upstairs, probably best thing. I have an hour before DD1 needs collecting from the station so just pottering around til then and doing dinner prep.0
