I even turned round and plumped up the sofa cushions :]
Hello to new people

Im in again although didnt get the last few days of last week done as was busy with work.
A lot quiter week this week so hopefully get to follow the lists. Ill do living room today, paying particular attention to the windows/sills and skirting boards. I will tidy the shelf and dust that and the TV stand.0 -
Off to declutter two bags of stuff to the scrap store and get some bits at Mr L.
Welcome WoQ - loving the new series of BoF! This thread was loosely inspired by the American site about 8 years ago and is entirely separate. The lists are all created by us (I only visited the site once about 6 years ago) and are very much more low key, for copyright reasons we need to keep it that way. You are of course very welcome here and to follow whichever lists suit you best. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
DW emptied and stuff put away (small miracle as nowhere has homes)
DW filters cleaned
One load of washing done and drying on airer, one in machine
Washing up done
All windows opened and house aired for an hour
Some work done
Now I need to make some phone calls - get skip collected, find someone to take on my ironing, get electrician and plumber recommendations...0 -
Hello new flyladies!
Paid stuff is bonkers here. Very to and fro. So not a thing done here in terms of flying, yet. But I had an earlier start than usual and will skip lunch so should get some time later.
DS throat ok but viral, so no anti bs needed, just fluids and rest. How do you make a nearly 5yo boy rest! :rotfl:
Anyway, we have granny help so paid stuff continues as normal. Well, as normal as it gets...
I'm only posting here as my connection timed out so its just loading back up. Hopefully... Might stick a wash on...Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Thanks for the welcomes!
I can see why my post must be confusing in that case lol I've only ever followed the FL American site (and all it's over sentimentality - I could do with a break from that for sure!).
So as not to confuse anyone, the FL 24/7 chat I mentioned is a live chat forum that is found through a link on FL's official site, frequented mostly by American FLYer's.
The Crisis cleaning 101 podcast (and also the weekly home blessing podcast) are 1 hr long recordings where FL talks you through each of those things as a kind of emergency measure for when you've got someone coming over or something. I tend to use it most monday's to recover from the weekend though! I won't post the links here just in case that's not the done thing but they come up in a google search for anyone wanting to give them a go.
I love that you guys have your own take on the system so I'll definitely be willing to give your method a go!0 -
I've had to change my plans for errand running today. I feel really ill.
I think I must have eaten something. Oh well, I'll do my tax return etc instead.
So far I have:
- WM/TD x1 (think I'll do some more today as well)
- Surveys on 1 site, more to do on others
- Updated the "house moving" section of my main household notebook - easiest to do as it was just deleting anything referencing Ex. It still needs a few bits adding to it but thats going to be work in progress as I come across information. Not that I'm planning to move any time soon, its just handy to have it all sorted in advance so it can be easily updated.
- sorted email
- created a pocket at the front of my diary to keep actionable stuff in. I just taped together two pages which I won't be using (brand/title and a UK road map) chopped a bit off the inner page and now I have a pocket to put credit card statements etc in until I've dealt with them
- Dealt with post - just the two credit card bills I'll pay tomorrow when tax credits come in
- Quick tidy in DD's room.
Now I'm going to go for a bath, try to have some lunch, juggle the menu plan as I really don't fancy a cottage pie thing which I had planned, and find all the info I need for my tax return and get it done. I'll gather all the bits to run my errands so tomorrow I can just have breakfast and go as I'm going to be looking at probably a 8 mile round trip as I'm planning on walking tomorrow to fit all the errands in in one dayAt least the exercise will do me good
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Apologies in advance if I'm missing a trick here...
Do you guys use dedicated days for things (Wednesday, menu planning, Thursday shopping/errand day etc) and zones for each week or do you break it down into one zone/room per day of the week like the 2nd post on this thread?
Just want to get with the programme lol0 -
Got the bedding washed in Glasgow before heading for the train. Cancelled due to de-railment. Just got on a later train but we'll need to change. No idea when I'll get home. Grrr. Will do some 'flying' for work on the train - lots of client billing to do, menu planning and shopping list Then hopefully I can do some household flying when I get home.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0

Wow, thanks for the warm welcoming words!!
This is an active groep, I love that!!!!
WorldOfQuid I've been on te 24/7 chat too, It has been a great help for a while, but as I'm living in the netherlands it didn't work quite as good for me as it's awfully quiet over there when it's my morning routines time.
I'm trying to figure out how things work here, I was expecting the flylady schedule with zones and everything, but as a matter of fact I don't really care when I do what, I just want to get some more stuff done
I did use the podcasts for a while too, the WHB podcast is quite okay, but aftere hearing it for many times I got bored with it. Th crisis cleaing one can be a big help too. Funny, I totally forgot about those...
I used to listen to the radio shows as well, I dit love the old Blog Talk Radio shows where listeners could ask questions. Very inspiring. Later the shows were more about FlyLady's activities, not as interesting and inspiring anymore. I Actually have no idea if she still does the shows.
I have to put away my errands and groceries now, and then off to my master bedroom. So I'm in for this week0
