Afternoon my lovelies.
Firstly get well soon to everyone and their families that are unwell, hugs to all supporting and plodding on.
Tiny decided to wake at 5.30 this morning, she must have known I wanted to be awake at 6.30 to get big one to school for her trip. They have arrived safely, it is always the traveling part that worries me. We then returned to bed and stayed there until after lunch
I am now doing a series of HHC to get the bedroom back to order again, the big wardrobe is done but need to get out the guff from it before I start on the next, otherwise I will be swallowed up by things that are no longer loved, needed and used.0 -
I had to use WD40 to open my purse the other day.. I think that says it all
Tight as nuns knicker elastic I am!!
I have 1 child staying at her friends tonight so swapped her for a friend of Tiddles.. I do not like other peoples children lol..
I have a blinding headache which is threatening to be a migraine, judging by the watery eye and fuzzy vision.. and the fact my spelling is appalling.. I need a nap and Dot is hypersonic because she is excited to have a new person in the house.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Kiddies are with inlaws possibly until Sunday, depending on how much progress I make here. I'm not doing loads tonight, I have a bottle of wine in the fridgeI'm not one to drink alone tbh but I might make an exception tonight.
Right. Off I go...Bossymoo

DH also knows I won't spend if it's avoidable – in fact it's a standing joke that it takes a crowbar to get money out of my purse!
My DH used to say that one of his colleagues was so tight that if he ever opened his wallet, pterodactyls would fly out of it! I am a little more flexible but still keep a very tight record of what I spend. I wish DH was the same, but it's his income and he must deal with it as he wants. He gives me a regular amount every week by SO as well as paying for all of our holidays and outings, and doesn't ask me to pay him back for the odd bits of groceries that he buys, whilst I pay all the regular household bills except for the phone and broadband, for which he set up the account - so I am quite happy with that arrangement.(ionafan - I keep TWO backups of everything that would be totally disastrous if it was lost - belt + braces, and all that);)
I know I should, and when I was self-employed I was far more careful to back up everything every day, but I now work on the basis that any photos sent to me by my children will be on their hard drive so I can ask them to resend, and my colleague P will have all the charity stuff safely archived. She has already sent me all of the missing files from the past 3 months
I have eaten both my frogs this afternoon :j and done a little more sorting of files - also arranged for the rest of DH's Freecycled [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE] treasures to be collected this evening or tomorrow morningThe Garden Gang have made a good job of the drive

Thanks for all your kind words.
A day with my friend was what we both needed. We ended up having a glass of champagne in Euston Station because who knows how many more birthdays there will be to share and it was on my to do list from last year. Also 'treated myself' to some necessary for the health of my feet birki slippers and some sale sandles from there too which shall be a birthday present.
Just need to sort out dinner for DS3 and take DS2 to work and then onto the sofa to play games with DS3 until bedtime.
Honeybear - you know me so well and you are half right but a lot of it is too painful to address so it is a self protection/destruction thing which I've been doing for almost 2 decades now so doubt it'll change anytime soonThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Hi everyone,
I've not had time to read the thread yet but will do later with a cuppa. I hope everyone is OK.
I've done absoloutely nothing housework wise since Monday. I've just been feeling a bit meh & all my GUAG has gone! DH is away for the weekend and so I am going to potter a bit, but not plan to do loads. I just get demoralised when I don't finish the tasks I set myself.
My weekend list
Do all washing, TD, ironing & putting away.
30 minutes dealing with hotspots/putting things away
S&S toilets and sinks
Tidy the chest of drawers in my bedroom. Chuck all old/unwanted clothes & pack away summer stuff to make more room.
Empty everything out
Hoover or dust inside the drawer.
Strip the bed. If you can turn the mattress and hoover it. Dust the bedframe.
Pull out any furniture you safely can and hoover behind it, dust the walls, wipe the skirting boards and replace
Wipe any doors, skirting and furniture with a damp cloth
Remake the bed with fresh laundry.
Hoover Living Room, Hall and stairs
Deal with the weeks bills/paperwork
Sort clothes into bags for cash for clothes people. Maybe list some on ebay.
Catch up on Casualty/Holby - DH hates them
Do some holiday planning - no excuses10lb to lose & keep off in 20204.5lb/10lb:rotfl:0 -
Hugs dusty, glad you've had some time out.
I've just painted two windowsills and three doors. Now having a minor crisis of confidence about the emulsion colour :rotfl: wondering if its going to feel like going to sleep in a marshmallow :rotfl: so I think my next job will be to clear out the (built in) cupboards and paint the inside. It will give me a better idea of what it looks like on a larger area. But maybe not tonight. This bottle of Pinot has just opened itself, poured into a glass and leapt into my hand
If it's too bright would it be a huge mistake to mix it with white?Bossymoo

you'd have to mix it all in one batch as youd never be able to match the shade in small batches and be happy you have enough or do a wall at a time so you can resort to a 'feature wall' if you run outSPC~12 ot 124

The wine is open here, anyone joining me?
Had to make a trip to the dentist with DS2 this morning, shshh dont tell anyone but I thought he was making a bit of a fuss about nothing. Turns out he has got major problems with two of his back teeth, and one of them may have to be removed! This could be a major procedure so more hospital appointments for us.
Anyhow, with the encouragement of you lovely people I am still flying so the house looks reasonably OK. I need to do a module on my online course tomorrow and see to OHs accounts before I get really behind.
Well, I might just sort out some washing then down tools for tonight. Its been a long week somehow.0
