    Good afternoon all

I won't moan, but just grit my teeth and state as a matter of fact that my flash drive wiped itself clean late last night  just a week after my friend/fellow charity Trustee P had warned me about backing everything up in case my computer (which is still fairly full of plaster dust from all our building work, though DS1 did hoover it out) finally conked out. Fortunately most vital things are on my old hard drive, and the only other documents that I desperately need are files which I sent to P within the last 6 months. I followed Flylady instructions to reduce the number of emails; P keeps hers archived forever; so guess how I'm glad I am of that! :T

I spent a lot of time this morning listing things out of the garage on Freecycle for DH, and we have had lots of interest, so I expect to be rid of them all by Saturday and will be able to claim my dining table back :D

The Garden Gang have been working hard today. More stuff has been delivered - sand, paving bricks etc - and we have a new fence in place :)

I have managed to sort DGS2's birthday present and card and paid 2 cheques into the bank via the Post Office (useful system). I have bought a book of knitting patterns for prem babies - not I hasten to add because I know of any personally, but because I have all sorts of oddments of baby DK wool which need using up by making little garments.

Hugs, spoons and sticks for all who need them, particularly those having trouble with children and BDs.

My small folk are in bed already! Both v tired. DS still recovering really, but heaps better. His tongue is pink now :p not covered in a white layer

So the DW is on, and I'm just having a HH me time then will go up with the paint for the woodwork :T

I think I'm decided against the blind we saw, it's an awful lot of money for not quite what we want. I'm going to look online and see what my options are. I want roman because I can get a good thick thermal lining. The one in DS room has been brilliant at keeping the window chill out.

    Might have a browse now...

have had an afternoon with the sewing machine so hanging thing is now made for the teacher whos class i have at lunchtime. it says
If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you
If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you
hope she'll like it. I was told she doesnt celebrate christmas so didnt want to do her something then so its just a 'because you and the class are worth it thing.
Got to sew another badge on the scouts shirt then tidy away the sewing stuff.

What a lovely gift Mrs MP, I'm sure she'll be thrilled. I'm sorry to read you've been having a tough time of it. Hugs to you.

I did my ironing :T so that's one monkey off my back. Just got to fit in a mad cleaning binge between 2 hours paid stuff, A1di run, donating a pint of blood and driving the boys to Wales before 7pm tomorrow and the weekend is mine. Easy peasy, right?? :rotfl:

    [STRIKE]SORT THE MEDICINES[/STRIKE]

Was slightly scuppered in the spare room department by the arrival of a friend for a quick coffee which ended up as a two hour chatfest! Still it was lovely to catch up.

Painting has commenced! :T I've done the skirting and door frames. The most annoying bits :rotfl:

Tomorrow we have a play date in the morning, and then FIL is collecting the small folk after school. So my plan is

Fri Aft: fill holes where mirror / photo frames were
Fri Eve: take curtains down, paint doors / windowsill (plus landing one)
    Sat Morn: paint ceiling
Sat Aft: paint walls, empty cupboard, paint inside
    Sat Eve: second coat
    Sun Morn: finishing touches
    Sun Aft: nap :T

I've found a much nicer blind online for about half the price so will call to cancel appointment tomorrow too. Its in a cupcake fabric :D

I've been reading despite not posting - hugs to all those having a carp time. You have all been very productive though.

Day one I managed to have my bedroom spotless then I started to declutter. My floor is now a mess however my wardrobe looks amazing. I removed the shoe rack shelf from it as I think I can get more shoes in without it there, tidied all the little sections and decluttered the medicine section. I decided that I could actually throw out the medication that I haven't taken for 2 years - don't quite know why I was saving it just in case as when the just in case happened I still didn't want to take it.
Also found about 8 hair dyes of various colours (yet my greys are peeking through).
Still one more wardrobe and an in wall cupboard to sort, they are mainly clothes and textiles though. Decided to let about 3 pairs of shoes go to shoe heaven. Bedroom decluttering going well. Hopefully there is a chance to do dd's at some point in the coming weeks too.
Big one is off to Devon for a week in the morning, it will be very quiet without her and I will need this thread to motivate me to do more than just feed Tiny. Without the school runs, swimming and after school clubs though I have no excuse. Dreading coming off maternity leave. I could so be a kept woman.

I know we're not supposed to use the F word here, but I'm afraid I'm feeling a complete failure.:( Before I became ill, I used to spring clean every room, thoroughly, on my own, with not too much trouble -

Bless you, I so wished I could give you a hug when reading this as you sound so like my Moomin (mum).
She has been ill for a long time & as her carer I now do much of the cleaning in her bungalow (she was once a housekeeper) it's a real confidence killer for her & she often feels a failure..
It hurts me to see her obvious frustration so I tell her everyday that I love her for who she is, not what she can do & I'd rather have another 10 years of her being with us doing the best she can than for her to worsen her condition trying to have a home that's pristine clean.. x Sending big hugs x

  • Hi everyone hugs to those who need/want them.

I'm off to bed shortly ... will super fly in the morning

I've got that behind on washing I had to wash LO'S school jumper and trousers on there own so they would dry before I went to bed ...

I have been keeping up with washing and drying the nappies tho so it's not all bad.

We haven't been at home much during the day the last few weeks but hoping I can gt bk into a routine as of Monday so sorry if I flood you all with posts as of next week to help keep me focused.

Had HV today she's very happy with baby but coming back to see me Don Tuesday (I could cry) apparently I have a few symptoms of postnatal depression. I know I haven't got it I had it with my first so I know what it's like I feel fine just got a lot going on and been restless/struggling to sleep since LO has been born. Mainly because he had a habit of doing this thing with his tongue that causes him to heave/chock (even tho there's nothing in his mouth) and sometimes be sick so it's put me on edge a bit esp as the one night he heaved I woke he was sick but didn't turn his head to to the side like everyone said he would and started chocking !! They don't seem concerned tho ... makes me wonder of it would all be Ok and I'd feel at ease and it would fix it all if I got his tongue tie done but they don't seem to think that's the reason why.... she said I looked tired and asked if baby was Ok of a night .... he's great wakes once or twice it's me tht can't seem to get more than 2/3 hrs sleep a night and I've been ill with different things since LO was 2 weeks old. Also he is 7 weeks tomorrow and I've been bleeding heavy up in till yesterday (I did have a 3 day break and then a 4 day break but I've basically bled for 6 weeks and really heavy too so no wonder I feel drained (sorry tmi)

Anyway I'm off to bed ready for the military mission of housework tomorrow ... night all xx

Hi opto mum - I saw the health visitor today too, I've learnt to take them with a pinch of salt. They are never concerned about anything I mention (for continuity) because all babies' have that / get that' its when they get told that the gp had already referred us or prescribed something along with realising I have an 11 year old they change to you're doing really well, they then realise the arent taking to an 18 year old. If you have a concern take it to the dr. Make sure your iron levels are ok. I don't know what they expect mums to look like at your stage. Tiny is now 19 weeks and ive only slept through once since I was 3 months pregnant, I will look tired, but like you waking once a night is not a problem. Rest up and big hugs.

Oh dear, mine are 3 and almost 5 and I've just chased them both back to bed ;) I look positively decayed, these days ;)

HV in my experience are not very helpful. Or VH, lol. What a coincidence. Sleep... :rotfl:
