Thanks Ali - I will try to post most days. At the moment I am resigning myself to just keeping on top of things - not going to be able to do more. But hoping things improve over the next few weeks.0

Just checking in for this morning. Up early to drop OH at airport - away working for the rest of the week - and I have no appointments today so am going to focus on blitzing the house. We want to have it valued so need to do a bit of decluttering! There is a good chance that we will be moving again and, if we do, we are hoping to rent for a while (have seen some promising long term lets) so we can use the equity in the house to clear the debts and basically start again. But first stage is to find out what we can realistically expect to get for the house. So no spending anticipated (though I bought milk!).
Hope you all have a good day.0 -
That's a big change ahead Miz if you're selling up, but the thought of being debt-free and going into rented will give you a clean slate and a fresh start. I imagine that's quite a weight you can see being lifted.
Will let you off the milk :rotfl:
Hope you have a productive house-cleaning day.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Yes. Looks like a change of job for OH and another move. We've found a rental property we love - just hoping we pass the credit checks (should be OK as have no defaults etc) - and the rent is less than our current mortgage. No issue with the dogs and wanting long term tenants. We will see. It would be great to clear the debts. Even though it will put us out of the property market for quite a few years it would be so good not to owe anyone anything (and without debt repayments we'd be able to save quite a bit a month so we would get a deposit together eventually!). Only thing is neither of us is getting any younger so we need to think about length of mortgage etc too. But one thing at a time. Still waiting for formal confirmation of new job and outcome of application for rented house so will have to see.0

All sounding good Miz

Well have had the job offer so that is another step forward. Just waiting for references which should be OK - hopefully! - and then we should get a contract.
Meanwhile I have been busy getting the house and garden cleared up - lots of clutter out into the shed. Nearly done - just kitchen to blast through then hall and porch. First estate agents are coming tomorrow afternoon and I have a client in the morning so need to finish this evening. Some chores to do first then will crack on. EAs tomorrow and Friday then we will have a good idea what we can expect. Will probably have a think over the weekend then put it on the market next week once the contract is through.
But it is all so stressful - waiting for stuff to come through. They are currently checking us for the rental house. Lots of positive vibes for that to go OK. Am hoping the credit card debts won't count against up - especially as we'll be paying them off as soon as we sell the house. I guess it would be good if we had lots of early interest in it to reassure them on that. But all our accounts are in good order and it is well within their affordability criteria for OH's salary and less than the mortgage payment they can see we have paid for the past two years. Just hope previous landlord doesn't stuff it up. He did have to replace the flooring when we left but we paid for it without argument as it was the dogs' claws that had done for it.
Just want it sorted!0 -

Write yourself a check-box list
and tick off as things happen, it's a stressful and exciting journey in equal amounts! You'll have a measure of progress and won't have to remember so much if it's on paper.
Everything sounds good to go though, try not to let the small elements of doubt stress you out.

Thanks guys. Yes Ali - moving about 200 miles away. Will get relocation to cover main costs of that thankfully - my days of doing it all in a Box van are over!0
