Lunch was lovely - and my friend insisted on treating me so it only cost me the train fare into town. :)

Still no contract - had a message yesterday from their HR saying that employer reference though fine hadn't given HR info requested so needs to contact an HR person now. Hoping it is just standard stuff like salary, absence etc. OH had a few weeks off sick not so long ago but before that had hardly ever been absent - so hope they go on average!

    So still crossing everything...

Check in for today. Contract through - yay! Now can move forward with plans.

Had an interesting conversation with a neighbour yesterday about a little bit of land at the end of our garden - they are interested in buying it - would make a huge difference to them and very little to the size of our garden (in fact it is already fenced off and doesn't appear on any particulars for the house sale). So will see what they offer. We'd like to sell it to them - they are lovely people and it would make a difference to them. And I doubt it would make any difference to our sale - even the EA mentioned that they may be interested in buying this patch! No idea what is a reasonable price though.

Debts are going to go up a bit before we can clear them - first month rent and deposit on the rented house etc. But once we sell this one we will be debt free. :D

Quick update. All finalised on new job and rented house - we take over lease in August. Seven viewings lined up for our house over weekend and already have an offer - though less than we want to take. But hoping it is good sign and we'll have others by Monday.

The agent did them. There were 9 viewings and she reckoned there were perhaps 3 who were seriously considering an offer. We will find out tomorrow hopefully. Everything crossed. Thanks for asking :)

    Wow! Two offers today.
Have ended up accepting over the asking price - buyer with no chain. Happy, happy dance! If all goes well we could be debt free in 6 weeks!

Brilliant news Mizmir, delighted for you - the perfect outcome too. :j

How did you get on with the land? If an EA is interested, sounds like it could be valuable, ie. could a house be built on it? If so, worth even more :D I'd do some serious looking into that one. A nice bonus if you sell it separately too. :)

Thanks Ali. No the land can't be built on - it isn't big enough - just a little triangle at the end of our garden. We checked with the agents and they didn't think it would make a difference to the value of ours - so we've agreed to sell it to our neighbours to give their kids somewhere to play. Feels like the right thing to do - and the EA was right - didn't make any difference to offers on the house. :)
