Excellent that you'll get relocation costs, that's a good chunk not to have to spend out.
I remember the days of moving ourselves, never again either!
Fingers crossed there's good news coming in day by day.Back on the DFW Wagon:

OMG - just had the first EA round and he priced the house 60K more than I was expecting. I'm not getting my hopes up until the other two have been - but he is an experienced local agent and he reckons he can get that or close to it. That would be amazing - would allow us not only to pay off the debts but to still have a deposit for another house if we wanted. Will believe it when we see it but it seems likely that we are underestimating the likely value by some way at least!
Had a lovely client session this morning so a lovely day. Am taking the night off to celebrate!0 -
Well we've had them all and the lowest valuation is still 40K more than I was expecting. I can't believe it - we may be able to clear mortgage, debts and still have at least the start of a decent deposit when we move.0

Yay ! :j You can look on Zoopla to check out sold prices in your post code/area MizNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Just found your diary - we are looking to be DF at the same time (well as per your original post
) so I shall read with interest. Fingers crossed for you. x
Debt - CCV £3792
CCB £1383 (took a hit for a holiday)
Loan 1 £1787
Loan 2 £1683

Thanks Elidee - I checked Zoopla but it seems that prices around us have shot up in the last few months and our house has an exceptional plot of land for the type of house. All three agreed a base price that we would be delighted with - and we are going with the agent who gave the valuation in the middle - he was most enthusiastic and we met him when we were buying and he was great with us as potential buyers too.
So we'll be contacting him in the morning to get the ball rolling. And we've got the tenancy we wanted on the rental house - it is lovely and has a bit of land for the dogs. So all falling into place. Just OH's contract to come through now but we know two of the three references have gone in already as the referees told us! So I think it should be here soon.
Not sure I will completely relax until we have that but I am starting to believe it may just happen.0 -

Thanks for dropping by! It's perhaps quite an extreme way to get debt free but I do feel quite content about it. We'll be renting but it is a nice place and can be long term - and not having any debt even a mortgage for the first time in my adult life will be incredible. From there we can start again with a pay as you go lifestyle!0 -
Sprucing up garden ready for
photographer tomorrow then everything crossed for
a quick sale. No contract yesterday - do hope
it is tomorrow as until it arrives I will still be twitchy. I
am lucky that I can run my business from anywhere as it is 75% online now - and I still have a lot of contacts up north. But we need OH's contract before we can finalise the rental, give formal notice here and start getting moving dates!0 -
Sign has just gone up - yikes it is happening! We're having a viewing day next week - means we can get dogs and their stuff out of the way and hopefully get a few folk through.
Still no contract which is making me twitchy - it is still just over a fortnight since OH was interviewed and they've had references etc to get but wish it would arrive! No reason to think any issues (and assume they would be in touch if there were as they have sent a formal offer) but unsettling nonetheless.
Have a couple of client reports to write then lunch out with an old friend I haven't seen for ages which will be a nice treat.0 -
I have been reading, sorry not had chance to reply - but really good to hear all the progress and especially the house value. :T
Great idea to have a viewing day with doggies not being there. I often wonder how people deal with that, what with having our two now!
Hope OH's contract shows up soon.
Enjoy your lunch tomorrow tooBack on the DFW Wagon:
