Thank you to those who’ve helped me turn my life round from living on mass produced food, to cooking all my own meals.

Thank you to those whose patience I may have tested whilst trying to understand what seems to some, a simple recipe.

Thank you to those who’ve supported me during my bouts of depression.

Above all, thanks to those who dedicate their time free of charge to assist such people as me.

Thank you for proving my Mum was right and stardrops and elbow grease are all I really need to keep the house clean. (Wish she was still around so I could tell her to her face, so saying publicly and for the first time, "Mum you were right :A "

Thank you for the Wooligans and the chance to gather together the mountain of wool I seem to have collected over the years and put it to good use, I now knit at the end of the day and it destresses me.

Thank you for the recipes and the suggestions when I don't know how, or can't think what to make.

Thank you for encouraging me to make my own instead of buy, to give hand made gifts and homecook meals and for all the pleasure and smiles I've had when I've handed the above over or served up to the family :D

Thank you for the smiles and laughs that can make a low point in a day turn around so I come away smiling, thank you also to the people who share their troubles and help put my life in perspective, and sometimes teach me a lesson!

Thank you for still being there and welcoming me back when I fall off the MSE wagon and need to get back to money saving, for never judging and for always trying to help.

Thank you for teaching me new skills, ways to get more for my money and ways to get my money back. For keeping me informed of the latest bargains, offers and freebies :D

Thank you for making me feel like I'm not the only one who gives a monkey's about the way of the world and the well being of others and for that sense of 'belonging' to a community, now if only my neighbours and so called local community could learn a lesson from my fellow MSEr's!

But mostly thank you for being here and sometimes being an excuse to not do a chore because I'm busy learning a new tip or skill ;)

Thanks to this site for helping me recognise and deal with my debt problem. And many thanks to all those on the DFW forum for their advice, guidance and support.

Thanks to OS for helping me to cut down my spending by taking part in the various challenges and for introducing me to menu planning, cooking from scratch, making my own and the many other tips, tricks and suggestions.

Thanks to the Shabby Chic'ers for introducing me to charity shops, car boots and ebay and buying used and preloved items and giving them a makeover instead of buying new.

Thanks to all those who share their personal challenges with us - you are an inspiration.

Tell me about squashing the toilet roll please:confused: .

Otherwise I agree with almost everything you have all said. Vinegar, stardrops especially.

If you squish it so the roll is an oval shape it makes it harder to "unroll" on the holder and so less likely to have an andrex puppy style moment ;)

Doesn't work for me though as OH keeps squishing it back into a round shape!!! :p
