Thank you all for making me realise that I'm not just a 'tight-fisted crank' but a 'money-saving fan' - and :p:p:p to my critics - ;).

Thank you to you all for your ideas, recipes and sense of humour that help me get through the day.

Thank you to all the younger money savers - it's wonderful when the grandmothers among us get taught 'how to suck eggs' - your modern money-saving ways are such a revelation. Why did I never ever think about doing my laundry 'by the weather forecast'. The number of times, in the past, that I've done my laundry on an unsuitable day and had to use the tumble dryer - then discovering that the next day is gorgeous and it could have been dried outdoors instead  .

Thank you for all the information about SC's - what a godsend in my life! Alongside my Pressure Cooker, this has become one of life's necessities.

And finally, my family thank you - for getting me back into baking again! They now walk in, sniff the air and ask 'What's in the tin?' - knowing that there's, at the very least, Twink's Hobnobs plus a cake of some kind (yoghourt, banana, jam sandwich, rich fruit).

Thank you for all the tips I would never have thought of which have helped me cut down on my outgoings since I joined
Thank you for telling me about Pigsback and Quidco
But most of all thank you for all the friends I have made and all the love and support I have felt since becoming an OSer that alone has made my life so much richer

all I can say is THANKYOU for lots and lots of tips and suggestions, all detailed abouve in other peoples posts.
I want to do a special thankyou for the change in mindset. Instead of it being "right" to buy branded stuff and expensive stuff because its "better" than theotherstuff, i now think its WRONG to think like that.
Its wrong to be sniffy about people who are saving the pennies and cutting back, they are the clever ones, not the keep up with the Jones types.
So great big THANKYOU for putting me on the right trackafter 40 odd years on the wrong one.

oooooo another one - many thanks for the freebie laundry powder measure that I was steered towards on the Freebie board. You won't believe how much that has saved me since I got it. My over-use of powder was appalling! I was so impressed that I even sent for one for my daughter!!!
