"Last night I was reading Mrbadexample's first attempt at baking a cake. :rotfl: So funny, but I didn't get to bed till 2 (sure I ended up dreaming I was eating chocolate cake mmmm)!"
Read the whole series it gets better!! Oh and if it's any conselation I was up till nearly two am reading same thread :rotfl: and I am now going to make a chocolate yogurt cake.
With all this cooking I had better start exercising or I will become a very chubby bunny on all this home baking tho  . To think at the begining of March I had not baked a cake for at least five years and I have now made three and am learning how to use my bread maker

I've got a victoria sponge baking as we speak. Almost went to the shops just to buy yoghurt! but convinced myself to stick with whats in my cupboards. How OS!
I really felt for Mrbadexample spending so much to become Old Style because thats what I'm doing now! So contradictory!! And two years later we're still chatting about his cakes! He's a legend!0 -
He was on again last night asking how to make a cake with three eggs, and made a mighty fine looking strawberry yogurt cake (Pictures are available)
Oh and he mentioned something about rugby and Scotland.........tee hee
Would post thread but have no idea how to sorry. A legend in his own kitchen indeed

Thanks Rikki for the link to the cake challenge thread - very impressed by all entries! Definitely puts my victoria sponge to shame, left it in the oven too long (although a third of it has been eaten so can't be that bad!).
I obviously need more practice so will try your carrot cake recipe next me thinks!:T
Have only reached page 10 of the thread, but I have to go to bed now! Will read the rest tomorrow. And I was supposed to be restricting my MSE forum reading!
Apologies to the OP, the thread has been slightly hiacked by cake hasn't it?:o0 -
