    Thanks KC.

I looked it up on Amazon and I've one of his CDs (shrink wrapped) two feet away from me here. I will give it a shot tonight.

Macmillan had 6 causes of sickness...and I've drugs for each. They say it's worse if you had bad morning sickness and in around 10% of the affected patients it never goes away. It's certainly never gone but it's now ramped up to chemo level and I feel dire.

Part of the problem is they won't give me the syringe driver until I start being sick this time because they hope that CMF won't make me sick. Somewhere in my head I'm now reliving Chemo 1 where I'd have shaken the hand of the man that shot me. I think I'm terriied I'll have to be that ill again before they help.

On the other side the syringe driver made me a zombie for 5 months, no driving etc. But if given the choice of Chemo 1 - Kill Me and Chemo 2 - The Walking Dead, big wimpy me would take option 2 any day.

On that note I'm off to tackle a boiled egg and toast. SB was trying to persuade me that a curry was what I needed - eh no thanks.

    Thank you all.

Well I had a really good session with the GP. Was in there about 40 minutes so apologies to anyone scheduled after me.
    • Got bloods out on 4th try (nurse have up after 2) so that's done for Hickman on Friday.
    • Had flu jab.
    • Had long talk about SB and he's to see GP tomorrow to start getting an official adult diagnosis for Aspergers.
    • Talked about pain killers and we're going to try non-oramorph morphine this time and switch to other opiates if this also makes me sick.
    • Agreed that District Nurses will do Hickman for me weekly, I'm going to talk to them (one's due any minute).
    • To ask chemo people to give me both normal and breakthrough sickness meds when I start the treatment.
    • To go back and see GP when we know how the chemo's progressing so we can plan next steps in supporting me.
All in all, the best GP visit I've ever had.

Just had word...one of the year long rent defaulters has just left. She's put £10 in my bank account...so that'll be £8630 of arrears left!!! Flat's a tip. She's taken what she wants and left the rest at her backside. So goodness only knows how much to clean that up but then we can hopefully get it rented out.

  • I haven't posted for awhile but can only echo the best wishes that others have already said. You're such a strong lady.

This may sound silly, but what about taking ginger (biscuits/cake, etc)?

I know that wouldn't come near to being effective enough for what you are going to go through, but maybe - like a placebo - you can trick your brain into thinking that you have thwarted the nausea.

Hi JAT...drives me mad. Lets hope karma is real!

Hi Gelda...I'm sitting drinking ginger beer and with a box (and I mean sell it in the shops box of 12 wee boxes) of GinGins on the table. Ginger definitely works...but its just not enough to beat this beast single handed. SB moans when I make stir fry...the giner ratio is very special lol :rotfl: Many thanks for the kind thought tho.
