Strange that we both turned to fruit as an alternative cathy. I think what's happened to me is that, encouraged by my DH who says it has health benefits, I've taken to rewarding myself with a bit of dark chocolate in the evening. OK so it's probably better than rewarding myself with wine but I don't want it to escalate to snacking mindlessly on junk.
I'm inclined to have another treat free evening today (and get it over with) but not sure yet.I wonder if part of the reason there are so many biccies and cakes in many workplaces is because a lot of people get bored at work and this is their way of dealing with it? ... It's that mid-afternoon thing when you would just rather go home, maybe.
It may be part of the reason but I think it started from some notion of management about valuing their employees. I'm sure most would rather be rewarded with extra salary or a 'well done' for good work.Wanna_Bee_Free wrote: »I love lots of cheeses apart from most goats cheese.
I'm the same. I like the initial taste of goats cheese but it has a strong after taste that I don't like.
Definitely planning to be AF today.

Thank you all for my birthday wishes; I think most of the celebrations are over, except for my main present from OH which is a holiday in Portugal in June.
I love fresh, in date, goat's cheese - that way you don't get the bitter aftertaste. In fact, one of the ones we bought in France was up there with one we can only buy in Totnes once in a very blue moon it's so popular. Must try and remember which wrapper it was so that we can get more next time we go back. I can remember where it was in the chilled supermarket cabinet so let's hope they don't reallocate the space before then.
Good going on the wedding, Dizzy. Booze-free weddings are a revelation - I rather like them.Mini disaster last night when I managed to spill a glass of red over our cream sofa. Annoying part was that I wasn't the worse for wear. I'd had wine with dinner, then had a break and was just settling to MOTD with a last glass and got clumsy putting it down on the side. Fortunately we have loose covers so I had to get them in the machine PDQ. So they're on the line now and I'll have extra ironing.
If you've managed to salvage the covers a little extra ironing is bearable, isn't it Maman? Horrible moment, though, watching the wine soak in. Fortunatley for me, OH was the first one to spill a glass of red wine on our sitting room carpet, and then I did exactly the same thing a couple of years later. Thank goodness I've got a carpet washer because of the dogs, is all I can say.
Still finishing up the 'leftovers' here - breakfast was the last of the French apple flan with the last of Nigella's Barbados Cream (if you haven't tried it, I absolutely recommend it), together with starting to make inroads on the clotted cream. Real hardship.
19/30 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
Hello folks! Well I had a good weeks holiday in the Lake District. That is until the fifth day and then I got flu and a bacterial chest infection. So I've been pretty much out of action until this week. Good news is that after two rounds of antibiotics I'm better and just dealing with the dregs of it. Good news is I've been AFD all of April :-) but I think I'm going to sit out the rest of this month and start afresh in May. Bad news is my fitness feels like it has nose dived. And I'd been doing so well :-(. Oh well back on it! Hope everyone else is ok and hasn't had the dreaded lurgy0

Been in a rubbish mood all day - had a row with DH yesterday (well, more of a silent sulk) which appears to be simmering away. He's still at work, 14 hours after leaving this morning and I'm not sure when or if to expect him home tonight
Normally I'd be drowning my sorrows, but not this time. 18/30 please Shaggy x0 -
