satchmo1, I hope your chap comes round soon :( It sounds quite unpleasant.

I suppose by "except on rare occasions" I mean when I have friends round for lunch, or if there is something to celebrate, like birthdays or Christmas. I don't mean I won't drink at home quite often, just that I won't drink wine :)

11/15 for me please Shaggy. :) This is also a treat-free day for me today, if anyone would like to join me? ...

I'm pleased to say I managed yesterday treat free so unlikely to do another this week. I didn't even have an apple so very pleased with myself especially as I had coffee with friends and they were tucking into cookies. Good luck to you for today cathy.

I catch myself thing "except for xyz" but categorise that thinking as the devil on my left shoulder battling with the angel on the right shoulder.

I have realised that when people talk about shared values they don't realise that there are many facets to what constitutes "values". My DH very strongly values knowing what he will be having for dinner. I don't. I think it's a strange thing to be angry about. But then, I think he actively seeks things to be angry about. Sigh. And he won't accept an apology until he's ready... how am I supposed to know when he's ready? How long's a piece of string. Sigh.

I understand about the 'exceptions' satchmo. My rule is only drinking at weekends except for social occasions (so no drinking midweek unless we go out or have people round). The trouble with that is that many weeks lots of social occasions seem to crop up.

That sounds like quite a trial with MrS. Crazy thing to get worked up about IMO but I know he has issues. The walking on eggshells must be so hard when something so trivial can set him off. Have a hug, sounds like you need one.

    Planning an AF day today

    10 AFDs please Shaggy.

Going to to have the rest of the bottle I started on Sunday tonight. Have waited until today as I was working Mon, Tues, Wed and had things on in the evenings. I wanted to be clear headed for early starts. Tomorrow I will swim and crack on with the jobs I didn't complete today. However I have had a very productive morning and afternoon (until 3!!). Lots of crossings out on my to do list but several other jobs keeping jumping on the end. Cross of one, gain two.

Its lovely sunny and warm and I shall enjoy my two glasses later. :)

Satchmo, just wanted to say I am thinking of you, must be an awful situation to be in and not how a reasonable adult conducts themselves in a relationship. It sounds an immature way of handing things. Why do you put up with it? (Not a crisiticm, sorry, just curious).

Had a very busy day, so could quite easily relax with a glass of wine, but will resist, not least as DH is working late again and I'm home alone with the kids...

20/30 for me please Shaggy x

Satchmo {{{hugs}}} I hope your OH sees sense soon.

Very sorry to hear that some partners aren't behaving particularly kindly at the moment. (((Hugs))) for everyone who's struggling with their relationship.

Totally fit and healthy on a chocolate cake diet!! What a recommendation!

Yeah, well, I may have a exaggerated ... a bit. On the 'totally' front, that is. Seriously though, I discovered by doing a 'No added sugary stuff' Lent that it doesn't work for me. I really, really missed it and craved it and even worse, as soon as I could scoff biscuits cake and chocolate I overloaded on it. I haven't yet found the balance I'm comfortable with and don't intend to stress about it until I've worked my way through all the leftovers. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Having said that, I've found several times recently that I don't actually need any more chocolate, so I've discovered something useful - there is such a thing as 'enough.' Never knew that before.

I can certainly identify with all the choc and biscuits talk - I have been eating more chocolate and biscuits than usual as 'treats' recently to try to jump-start myself into cutting back on the wine, which had been creeping up, and it is working so far:cool: I just think that the impact on my overall health must be better than the impact of wine on my liver

I think I am now at a stage where I can replace the choc and bix with fruit and nuts :)

It is considerably less damaging, and in the early days of stopping the booze completely if I'd tried to diet as well I'd have failed on both. I did lose about a stone within a year of stopping boozing and I still haven't put it all back on, which is why I'm not that bothered. Yet. Your liver will definitely be thanking you and your overall health will be improving even if you're not the sylph-like thing of your imagination yet.

    21/30 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.
