    (((Hugs))) Satchmo.

Palm oil. Revolting stuff. Won't have anything to do with any food that contains it. If you bake a batch of Twink's Hobnobs with butter not margarine and then freeze most of the dough ready-to-bake, you'll have a fabulous treat and you'll know exactly what went into them. Our favourite flavour is with about 200g chopped crystalised ginger but pretty much everything that everyone else has thought of is on the Twinks thread. I heartily recommend it, but don't muck around with margarine - it's not even food and it's part of the reason cakes and biscuits don't taste wonderful, so we end up eating more.

My birthday cake is a thing of the past. Now all that needs dealing with is the cheese, and I may freeze some of that. Weighing myself on Monday is going to be . I foresee a few weeks of porridge for breakfast, soup for lunch, no snacking between meals and simple evening meals ready for Portugal on 1 June. Should do the trick.

    23/30 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.

Hope you managed the Parkrun today satchmo. You need some 'me' time and blowing away cobwebs.:A

Your holiday is really getting closer HB. Which art of Portugal?

I was AF last night as wasn't about to have a drink after the theatre, too late to spoil the day. I did have a small ice cream and a bit of chocolate but caloriewise I think it was better than the wine I'd have had at home.

    11 AFDs please Shaggy.

Bright and dry here after yesterday's rain. Have a good weekend all.:)

15/25 AFDs and a very energetic day with a great bunch of people. Instead of parkrun, I went on a 9.5 mile group walk in North Wales. The weather was great, except for an icy wind for the last mile. Then we had an early dinner on the way home just outside Ruthin.

Mr Satchmo didn't come, which was a shame for him. He's thawing slightly, and bought me some chocolate today. I told him I'd rather have my husband!

The devil was whispering that I deserved wine when I got home, but I resisted and had a mug of tea.

Hope everyone's enjoyed their Saturday. Thanks for the hugs and thoughts, folks, they're much appreciated.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Three days in Lisbon which I've been to before and loved, Maman, then the train to Porto and three days there which will include a river trip on the Duoro. I think. OH has organised it and he seems to want to keep most of the details secret, so that's all I know. A Portuguese friend lives in Porto and he's recently become the father of their third child, a girl to go with the two boys. It's the baby's birth we're going to celebrate, and I finally get to meet N's wife. (OH went last year when his team were playing Porto.)

Good to know things are getting back on track with your OH, Satchmo.

    24/30 please, Shaggy.

That sounds great HB, just the sort of holiday I'd enjoy. I really enjoyed Lisbon (and a trip out to Sintra) and Porto. I could look at blue and white tiles for ever!:rotfl:

I ate crisps again last night.:o My DH has been working really hard lately so I've been buying a few bits of junk (crisps, biscuits etc) to cheer him up. I'm never tempted by the biscuits but I just love crisps. It's so much easier when I don't buy them.

I think might need three treat free days this week to balance things out.:(
