Hi, I've been reading through the thread and would like to join. I'm used to having a drink every day, so I'm not sure how this is going to go, but I think I'll try for 15 AFDs in November.

Not a great result for October, but there was quite a lot of socialising - which seems to be increasing now all DD's at university/in first job in London

My plan is to enjoy what December brings but to be as angelic as possible on days when there aren't any events.
About 7 Xmases ago I put on 9 pounds in November & December  - when I looked back on it I was over eating by about 680 calories per day for about 2 months. That might sound like a lot but it was probably only 2 mince pies and a biscuit everyday  something I would have no trouble doingTook me months to lose that 9 pounds.
Something that's really helped me recently is realizing that you only have to overeat by 50 calories (half a biscuit or 2 squares of Dairy Milk!) each day to put on half a stone in a year and a 100 calories (a hole biscuit or 4 squares of dairy milk) to put on a stone.
As a seasoned-dieter yourself you probably have lots of tricks too! Tbh I never really had to think about what I ate until about 7 years ago when I started to gain weight - I think because my job changed a bit and I was getting less exercise. So I have had to educate myself from scratch! What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. The biggest progress for me is finding homes for things of the same category in one place rather than scattered through the house.
Oh that is so true. I have finally got my photographic negatives in one place - rather that scattered around. Now I just have to find the time to sort through them and identify themWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again.
