    I drink. A lot.

I went 5 weeks without recently, and felt great.

October wasn't so good. November hasn't started well either.

I cant drink to be sociable, I've always drank to get drunk.

But after tonight, I'm going to give it a bye.

So sign me up for /forever.

    Good luck and keep posting.
I find that I need other things in addition to this thread and will power, but that's just my experience.

I'm hopeless. Called at a friends last night, had a brew while she had a glass of wine, all good intentions and then, bam, I decided to join her. What a great start, not!

Alcohol has a powerful hold over me, and if I am not careful, it 'calls' to me and the next thing I know I have a glass in my hand.
And when I have one drink, I usually had the 2nd etc

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Can I join please? Had a wedding this weekend so not off to a great start. But aiming for 10 AFD this month, sounds pathetic:(

Pushing out the MSE welcomewagon.gif for you. Good Luck.

 Hi Roland the Roadie! I'm pretty sure everyone who stopped had a bit of a run at it first, went back to drinking and then stopped for good. I consider my 20 days in January and February (which I keep forgetting about now) as my practice run! Good luck with it.

When I quit smoking about 20 odd years ago, I remember reading the late great Allen Carr's quit smoking book - in it he said that smokers get better and better at quitting smoking every time they try - until eventually it just sticks. Rang true for me - I lost count of the number of times I tried to quit smoking. The first time I was 20 and lasted about 2 hours!!!! I knew then I was in trouble - took me aother 10 years to finally quit.
