Don't hesitate to let me know if I've made a mistake! What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Something that's really helped me recently is realizing that you only have to overeat by 50 calories (half a biscuit or 2 squares of Dairy Milk!) each day to put on half a stone in a year and a 100 calories (a hole biscuit or 4 squares of dairy milk) to put on a stone.
As a seasoned-dieter yourself you probably have lots of tricks too! Tbh I never really had to think about what I ate until about 7 years ago when I started to gain weight - I think because my job changed a bit and I was getting less exercise. So I have had to educate myself from scratch!
Those are scary figures for what a harmless bit of chocolate can do. Strangely enough my story is similar:eek:. I was slim all my adult life until I changed my job, more sitting in meetings and more stressful so ended up rewarding myself with booze and generally less active. I gained weight slowly over a few years and eventually decided enough was enough as I hated being fat. So I came on here to control the booze first then joined SW, my first ever 'diet'.
I'm making a start of November today, hoping for 3 days this week.
1 AFD please Shaggy.0 -
I managed 14/8 ALD/AFDs for october because the last two days were two AFDs in a row in practice for november
Then yesterday I had an 'on' day and had two units. I felt it this morning, tired, groggy, why did I bother
So my system must be used to me not having any now and reacts to having just some. Back to none again as often as possible I think.
I remember it being really difficult to cut down from one bottle a day to slightly less and it kept going back up, and now after all that inching it down it's got a lot easier. I can still feel the want a bit more mentality creeping in but the really low tolerance and a bit of willpower means I'm less interested in it. Not having to keep buying the stuff is a huge relief and a good incentive as well0 -
Can I join please? Had a wedding this weekend so not off to a great start. But aiming for 10 AFD this month, sounds pathetic:(0

I found my body got used to having less and any overindulgence and I feel it. Felt so cross with myself on Saturday as I haven't had that hungover feeling in ages. Good deterrent though.:(missingmum wrote: »Can I join please? Had a wedding this weekend so not off to a great start. But aiming for 10 AFD this month, sounds pathetic:(
Not pathetic at all, and welcome to the thread. I have a target of 10 every month;). Last month that's all I managed, mainly due to a holiday. Otherwise I aim to beat it if I can and not drink to excess on the days in between.
The lovely Shaggy will add you to the list when she's next posting:).0 -
1/20 AFDs today, to kick of for November. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

1/20 for me today too0

one day missing isn't bad at all, congrats on the interview
and a well-earned beer! I'm a fan of real ale but haven't had one lately. Now with my targets I can only have one pint, but the good news is it can be whichever beer I want, not necessarily the weakest because I'm not going to have 4 pints

Well done on the 30 days Charmed. You did amazingly well, imho.
Thanks for the support guys.
For the newbies, in a way, I wish I hadn't had that pint on Saturday. A month free of the stuff and now I need to get it out of my system.
The interview went no-where as I would have heard today.
Never mind0
