    4 years now AF.

I still don't miss it and with the money saved I went on holiday last week to Holland and Germany.

Lovely to to be reminded of another success story! When I stopped last year I read hundreds and hundreds of pages of these threads and found a huge amount of useful information out as a result. I have treated myself to several things with booze money and they give me a real lift when I see them.

Probably different, but equally cute, smileys next month so watch this space!:D

I think it rather depends on your mindset how you set targets. Some like an aspirational, high one and can cope if they don't reach it. Personally I prefer a low one and if I can beat it I'm delighted. Whatever happens just do your best piggles. I have a friend who copes fine with every other day. I suppose if you find AF really hard then it's not long to wait. Personally I like to look forward to weekends so when I started I tried for AF Monday to Thursday. instead.

Thanks maman :) I like to set a nice easy target in public but secretly aim to do better than my target. I'm a hard task master on myself really.

I had a trying day yesterday and was frazzled, but still managed another AF day :) I reckoned drinking wasn't the answer and it wasn't going to change anything, so had two cranberry juices and a horlicks and went to bed at 11pm, but was still awake at the shipping forecast :( nevermind, I'm sure it'll get easier still. At least I do drop off eventually.

    11/8 ALD please shaggy :)

Wow! You're really getting into this piggles. Great idea to have the soft drinks. I do hope your sleeping gets better but try to separate it from the drinking. Controlling drinking is a positive step regardless. I don't know about you but although I get off to sleep faster on drinking days I still wake up when the effect of the 'drug' has worn off.

I'm exactly like you in that I hope for a higher score than mu published target. So mine's a 'meet it or beat it' target. This month I've struggled to meet it but fortunately that's mainly because of my holiday not because I've been losing control.

    I'll call in later;).

Holiday (to Carcassonne) was great, our apartment had a view of the citadel, which was lit up at night, it was like something out of a storybook.

Getting back on the wagon was tough, but I'm on 13/14 now, so will make my *low* target for the month. I knew it wasn't worth setting it any higher, with all the birthdays October holds for my family.

Can I set a target of 20 AFDs for November please?
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

    Debt-free and Proud!
22 days for today. Yesterday, I visited the In-Laws. For those that don't follow my diary, we do not get on. That evening, I'll admit I had a drink to forget about it.

For November may I have an ambitious target of 28 days, please?
    2018 totals:
    Savings £11,200
    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500
