Don't hesitate to let me know if I've made a mistake! What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Thanks Maman!thank you maman
I never realised I could do it! You and Honey Bear are right it's better to not deprive myself too much and work on one thing at a time.
There's a Debt Free Diary I've been contributing to and following for years. We've got a bit of a monthly thing going where we set ourselves minor change challenges and encourage each other. It's been incredibly helpful for me, a bit like the B00t$ the chemist idea a few years ago of Change One Thing. Very helpful, all the support, very much like this thread. Stopping boozing has led to a sort of gradual spring clean of my life, and the Marie Kondo idea is a helpful approach for certain aspects.Just my annual visit. 6 Years sober today.
Huge congratulations, 365Days! You're an inspiration and the fact that you check back in sometimes reminds me that this great feeling can last and last. Good on you.
28/31 please Shaggy. Oh hurrah! I've just realised I'm getting my favourite smiley. Yay!Better is good enough.0 -
I'm pretty confident about today but not 100% sure as lots going on. I'll call back later.:)0

I think you've done well to keep things to a minimum and as tidy as you can. One thing I've found since doing a version of Marie Kondo is that when I came to pack for recent holiday it was so easy to find everything and transfer to suitcase. Hopefully it'll work like that for you moving home. Apologies if a bit off topic but I find being in control helps everything including AF.
I agree, it makes a neat and tidy mind as well not having to look at clutter. Back when I was drinking a lot more I did have a fair bit of stuff I didn't tidy away, so now the tidyness around me is the result of not drinkingHoney_Bear wrote: »There's a Debt Free Diary I've been contributing to and following for years. Yeh that way of thinking about it is useful. I'm having to do tiny challenges each day here. I've not long moved in and all the curtains still need sorting out. So things like 'order cotton' counts for a thing. Some jobs take days to sort out so a little bit a day helps keep me focused.
The AL/AF thing is daily as well, rather than planning for the week because I might get overwhelmed.
Saying that though I messed it up yesterday and had 3 units. That's not much compared to what I used to have but I'm disappointed I didn't notice I was up to my limit, and after I realised I thought oh well, I want another, and went up to 3 units. A bit annoying but still well below what I used to have and today is an AF day as planned, even if I have made it a bit harder for myself.
shaggy, please can you put my 15/30 for november under AF not AL?That's what I'm aiming for, every other day without any.
I want the kitty on the moon still, wonder if I can do 21 days AF in november. Tall order!0 -

Probably different, but equally cute, smileys next month so watch this space!:D
I think it rather depends on your mindset how you set targets. Some like an aspirational, high one and can cope if they don't reach it. Personally I prefer a low one and if I can beat it I'm delighted. Whatever happens just do your best piggles. I have a friend who copes fine with every other day. I suppose if you find AF really hard then it's not long to wait. Personally I like to look forward to weekends so when I started I tried for AF Monday to Thursday. instead.0 -
