The Giving Up/ Cutting Down alcohol support thread - number 13

Just wondering if anyone else has had this, but I have found that recently (since cutting out/down) I have dreamt quite a few times about drinking a fair bit...
It could just be me0 -
Although mine was much smaller, I've met my target as well. 8/8 ALD for yesterday please shaggy.
Although yesterday was actually an AFD again. I like to buck the trend on a saturday nightIt helped listening to the radio and waiting for F1 to do any kind of qualifying in a massive storm, but that kept getting cancelled so I tidied the kitchen and part of the living room and kept finding things to put away. The cupboard in the hall is now bulging with stuff but the rest is tidier and the evening passed really fast.
I'm hoping I'll carry on like this, having 2 units every other day. It seems a better way for me to do it rather than the last time when I gave up fags, booze, coffee and biscuits all at the same time
That's an achievement piggles, well done!:T
Have you read Marie Kondo's book the Life Changing Art of Tidying? After making a good start it would certainly keep you busy and distract you from thinking about drinking. There's a thread on it here and while her ideas are a bit far fetched in places it certainly helps the feeling of being in control of your own space.
Not surprised it didn't work to go cold turkey on everything. I started off with cutting down booze before I started my weightloss. Both of those well under control now and my home is tidy (well my stuff is anyway;)). Other areas a work in progress.:)0 -
I stopped smoking in 2006, and I've managed to knock caffeine on the head as well as booze, but I didn't even think about coffee until I'd been off the booze for a year. I lose weight when OH is away for at least 10 days and so only eat when I'm hungry, staying away from biscuits and sugary things. Anything that resembles a diet tries my patience to such an extent that I eat more rubbish rather than less. One thing at a time, in my world.
25/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
12/13 for tonight. Pleased I kept target low this month with being away as, hopefully, should meet it with days to spare0

19 for tonight. Quite fancied a glass of wine with lunch today but wife kept me on track. Seems it was a good idea to tell her I want to only drink on special occasions. My parents were surprised.
Everyone seems to be doing really well this month.2018 totals:

Don't hesitate to let me know if I've made a mistake! What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
