If I do wake up and can't get back to sleep I have a banana and that seems to do the trick, can't remember what's in it but all natural!

I have heard bananas being described as "a sleeping pill in a peel."
In addition to a bit of soothing melatonin and serotonin, bananas contain magnesium, a muscle relaxant.
    Never tried it myself.

I managed to get through the Apprentice last night without anything to drink so left it alone for the night and had none at all :) It was tempting, but I thought if I did it once I can do it again. I'll add it to the ALDs but maybe next month I can have an AFD target.

chucknorris that's good going. I daren't check my life expectancy because it might scare me. I wonder how long a person has to stay at the lower level for old indulgences to be rubbed out.

gien it's a good feeling to put a bottle back unfinished.

    6/8 ALD please shaggy :)

I went for an ultra sound scan on my liver, pancreas and gall bladder, but the initial (on the spot) feedback was that my pancreas and gall bladder are fine, and there is a little bit of fatty tissue on my liver (but nothing unusual). I am going into the docs next week for the official results, but it looks ok. So I think I have had a lucky escape.

    Hi all

It's too busy during the week for me to keep reading (although I'd like too). Just done a massive weeks catchup.

I've got 4 AFDs this week please Shaggy.b

Good news about your scan ChuckNorris. Such a relief for you.

That's good to get 4 AFDs through the week cuppa. Well done!

Great news about the scan chucknorris, I'm sure you feel you can move forward making a positive improvement to your health now.

    Is it tryptophan in bananas?

Can't believe it's time to think about November shaggy. I'll go for my usual please but must get a few more AFDs in for October first.
  • Declaring 24/31 please shaggy :)

Wish I could add something life changing, but I sometimes found if things were going round in my mind, writing stuff down helped. Most of it didn't make sense some of the time, and sometimes I was writing fast so it was ineligible. Sometimes I would just write a short plan for the next day, i.e. have breakfast, scour this forum, walk to the shop at the end of the road to get milk, lunch, ... dinner ... bed. (... represents one thing, not a load:) )

On the valerian aspect, I have taken K@lms Night and there are some other ones (S0minex herbal) both tablet form. Yes, if you pop one out - in foil strips - then spend times sniffing it, it may put you off, but you don't taste them. Just don't down them with a drink with an abv% :)
    Have a good weekend people

21/22 for me please Shaggy x

I bottled up the damson brandy, damson gin and rosehip syrup that's been stewing nicely in the cupboard for the past 6 weeks. I did have a sip of each (purely for taste-test purposes, honest!) So while not an AFD, it was an ALD for me :D Christmas pressures sorted for some friends and rellies, plus one of each in the cupboard for us ;)
