I know the feeling. Invitations are coming in for December already. Three in one week to date. I'm going to have to grab every AF day that I can.

No more AFDs for me so still stuck on 8, but the other days have really been low in alcohol so I don't feel too bad.

I find we are having a glass of wine with our dinner and then, instead of carrying on and sloshing the whole bottle down as usual, we put it back in the fridge!

However, tonight and tomorrow will be AF days as I know I need to make my target!!

Shaggy, for November I will go for 15 please
    Trying to keep in budget.

    And jolly well done, too!

27/31 for October and a full house again, 30 for November please Shaggy.

I was wondering how long it's okay to go on posting on this thread. I think I can now say with a sliver of confidence and a bit of trust in myself that I have actually given up the booze. However, I'm still a little bit needy when it comes to the support - a bit like ditching the waterwings when you learn to swim. I don't like the idea of not being part of this thread at all, very much like going out of my depth, in fact. I wonder how long that feeling lasts - I'm on Day 459 for goodness sake!
    Better is good enough.
  • Target for November 22/30. Going to test the waters and away seeing my baby bro for a few days, hopefully superceed that and/or take the others as AL if not AF

27/31 please and thank you Shaggy

There's no limit to how long you can post HB, otherwise Shaggy and I would have been shown the door years ago!! Like you I'm confident that I wouldn't slip back into old habits without the thread but it still helps me to see it recorded and to read tips and ideas.

    8 AFDs please Shaggy.

Like you gien, I need to stay AF to reach my target. I'm not making promises though.

That's an achievement piggles, well done!:T

Have you read Marie Kondo's book the Life Changing Art of Tidying? After making a good start it would certainly keep you busy and distract you from thinking about drinking. There's a thread on it here and while her ideas are a bit far fetched in places it certainly helps the feeling of being in control of your own space.

Not surprised it didn't work to go cold turkey on everything. I started off with cutting down booze before I started my weightloss. Both of those well under control now and my home is tidy (well my stuff is anyway;)). Other areas a work in progress.:)

thank you maman :) I never realised I could do it! You and Honey Bear are right it's better to not deprive myself too much and work on one thing at a time.

Yes I've seen the marie kondo thread and followed some of the things they suggest on there. I even rolled up my clothes on the shelves! The difficulty I have is I've got to move again at some point, so the cupboard is full of packing stuff, my gardening things, a worktop which I use for sewing/art because I have no desk space, mirrors/rugs/extension leads for the next place etc. so I've got it down to the minimum I can for the moment. It's a case of stacking neatly I reckon.

I've carried on with my mission and had 2.5 units sunday (bottle of beer) then 0 again last night :)

10/8 ALD please shaggy, and for november I think I'll go for the 15/30 AFD if I can do it!

I wanted the kitty on the moon but joined the thread late and I'm not quite ready for 28 days AF yet.
