Just my annual visit. 6 Years sober today.

    Many congratulations!!:T:A

I think you've done well to keep things to a minimum and as tidy as you can. One thing I've found since doing a version of Marie Kondo is that when I came to pack for recent holiday it was so easy to find everything and transfer to suitcase. Hopefully it'll work like that for you moving home. Apologies if a bit off topic but I find being in control helps everything including AF.

Well done to everyone this month - October seems to have been good for a lot of people!

I am proud to add another AFD to my total, so I am now standing at 23/22 - over target and chuffed to bits:T

Going to sneak in an extra day for November and go for 23 please Shaggy x

    And jolly well done, too!

27/31 for October and a full house again, 30 for November please Shaggy.

I was wondering how long it's okay to go on posting on this thread. I think I can now say with a sliver of confidence and a bit of trust in myself that I have actually given up the booze. However, I'm still a little bit needy when it comes to the support - a bit like ditching the waterwings when you learn to swim. I don't like the idea of not being part of this thread at all, very much like going out of my depth, in fact. I wonder how long that feeling lasts - I'm on Day 459 for goodness sake!

I don't believe there is a time limit at all. Keep on posting!
I'd say you have well and truly given up the booze.

I know for myself (8+ yrs sober) that I need to do the things that I do to stay sober, so meetings, threads, meditation, etc all need to be done frequently.
Booze no longer plays a part in my life, but I think it would do within a few months or years if I stopped doing the things I do to get me sober initially.

I believe I will always be an alcoholic, and either a 'recovering alcoholic' or an 'active alcoholic'
Being active was not much fun...
  • Nice to see graemecarter and 365 days.
    14/21 please Shaggy.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
