Had a great holiday thank you Chardonnay, drank every day which is why I want an AF rest of the month. I really hope I've not set the bar too high and end up failing.0

26 days AF and
Thanks Alchemilla, yes I read that too. It's definitely drinking too quickly that does it and I don't weigh very much so even a 5% beer gets me quite drunk after 2-3 pints!Starting 2016 debt-free

I'm not as bad as I used to be, now at the grand old age of 45 I don't have the social life I used to have in my younger days! But I well remember the Mondays wasted by having just drank so much over the weekend. I always found (and still do find) wine to be the worst for memory blackouts etc. It's so heavy and a disaster for me on a night out so trying to steer clear of it and just drink it with a meal. How did your party go?
Hey MC! Great to see you! How was your holiday? Good luck with being AF for the rest of June!
Have a great holiday HB!
I'm now on 8/22 please Shaggy. Have a great weekend all!
Thanks Chardonnay. I totally agree about the wine, I love it and Chardonnay is one of my favouritesBut I have started avoiding it now as its just so strong, too easy to drink and inevitably results in a hangover. My recent idea was to try and stick to Vodka, lime n soda or gin and tonics in the pub. These are only one unit per drink and if I can drink slowly then I should avoid getting excessively drunk hopefully.
The party was good fun. Everyone was told to bring a bottle of spirits so the cocktails were in full flow. I didn't start drinking till nearly 10pm and I kept topping up my first drink with soda water to dilute it. Inevitably I did sample a few different cocktails over the course of the night but I didn't get really drunk and remember the whole night so I'm counting that as a success
Hope everyone else is enjoying the weekend!Starting 2016 debt-free

well I'm on my day 1...
I estimated I spend £100 per month on alcohol (drinking in or out) so it's time to stop for a few months.0 -
Hi aphid girl, I've been doing the same as you just lately and having a spirit and mixer. I'm not a big wine drinker when I'm out, but prefer real ale and cider which can be really strong, especially when I like to drink pints!
I can seem to moderate and be careful, but then I have a night where I don't and I hate the feeling afterwards. Would love to be AF, and have been tip toeing around the idea for ages.
Good luck KrystianOCO x0 -

11/13 AFDs so I'll make my target. I'm off to Porto on Monday for 4 nights, and after a horrible time recently I'm really looking forward to it. Temperatures are forecast to be in the high 20s
I had too much to drink on Wednesday evening, and have been suffering an upset tummy ever since. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Bon voyage.xxx0

Calling in early with 12/13 AFDs
Feeling a bit better today, hurray: surely if it was alcohol related it wouldn't last this long? I'm suspecting stress-related IBS, exacerbated by alcohol?
Only one more sleep until holibobs. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0
