    9/13 AFDs for me tonight.

The sun shone today, and I did a pile of ironing with the patio doors wide open. Whilst I was putting some of it away, a finch flew, and landed on the ironing board, stayed for a minute then flew out again!
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

    Well done Barney :j
    Have a lovely weekend shaggy

Well today would have been AF but mid afternoon I was called into a meeting and discovered all my office had congregated and there was a cake, a HUGE bouquet, balloons and bunting and a bottle of bubbly.

All arranged in secret as I have a birthday, next week and i wont be in the office.

It was a lovely surprise and did only have one glass :D:D

    Have a good evening all

    Tenth Anniversary
Just popping on to say that I'm on 7/22 please Shaggy.

Bit of a boozy start to the month with DH's birthday celebrations but back on the straight and narrow now. No alcohol since Sunday and won't drink tonight either - off out tomorrow so that won't be AF.

    Have a great weekend all!

    Hi Everyone,

I've been reading this thread every now and again for a few months now and its a great inspiration.

My issue is drinking far too much at the weekends. I can easily go all week without a drink as I work away in a different city so my friends/family/boyfriend arn't here to go out with! When I go back home at the weekend though I'm in the mood to socialize and spend all of Saturday and Sunday (and sometimes Friday night) out with people, usually drinking for long periods of time.

The result is I feel exhausted and/or hungover most Saturdays, Sundays and even Mondays lately. If I'm tired/hungover from the night before I tend to start drinking again to feel better and then the whole thing happens again the next day!

It's becoming a problem as when I drink a lot I tend to have memory blackouts where I can't remember leaving the pub/party or getting home. These have been happening regularly over the last few years and its horrible not being able to remember the end of the night. It's also affecting my work a little bit as there have been two Mondays in the last 6 months when I have not gone to work due to being so tired and ill from drinking all weekend, and a few Mondays when I have gone in but have been so tired I've not got much work done and left early.

Anyway, just thought I'd say hi and post for a bit of added motivation to change things! I am sick and tired of being sick and tired, as they say, but I don't feel like I could give up alcohol completely. I'm aiming for moderate drinking at the moment but its very difficult to achieve!

I'm off to a party tonight and will being trying very hard not to get drunk....will see how it goes! Hope you guys all have a good weekend :)

11/30 AFDs today and two months since last drink

Huge congratulations, Barny! Another milestone achieved. Have you noticed any changes since you stopped?

Calling early for today, so 12/30 for this month and I'm off on holiday for three weeks so I won't be posting for a bit. I may take my computer and log on at some stage but then again, I may not.

    TTFN.
    Better is good enough.
