I haven't been to Hossegor but know the area quite well. Had holidays north (around Mimizan in the Landes) and south of there around Biarritz/San Sebastian.
We did Biarritz and Bordeaux. I'd love to go back to that coast- what's Mimizan Like? Is Hossegor supposed to be nice? Have you been to San Sebastian - OH fancies there.

I've never been/heard of Hossegor before so can't comment. Mimizan isn't anything special. I seem to remember it's biggest claim to fame was a smelly paint factory!
But, like you I did like that coast. Lots of pretty places around the various ponds/inlets. Very different to our usual Provence/Normandy/Brittany/Dordogne French holidays.
San Sebastian is a quite large, beautiful city. Worth a visit if you're in the area but not somewhere you'd stay for a holiday. The first time we went there was by accident. We'd planned to stop in Biarritz, couldn't find anywhere to park so just kept on driving!:)

Mimizan used to have a smelly paper factory. I once Eurocamped about 5 miles away (out of range of the smells), and the lake on the campsite was superb for learning to windsurf as its deepest point was only chest height. Europe's tallest sand dune is in that vicinity, too. Climbing that was a workout.What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0
