Oooooh the thread has been busy today! I am off to bed so no time to read them all but will catch up tomorrow. Sorry about your brother, Topgirl. How tragic :( )

    Welcome home Shaggy :)

I am going to go 1 AF for tonight please and TF again for August as I don't think I have done any worse than when I do set a target and it saves the mental beating up I do to myself when I fail to hit target.

    Happy August everyone :)

I think I may be, Maman. I certainly hope so.

1/31. Good-oh. I feel a bit Freddie Mercury-ish, 'Another one bites the dust!' I've had a glass or three (or a lot more) pretty much every night for 20 years. If I'd known how to stop before, I'd have done it much, much sooner. I just couldn't get my head into this place, but while it's here it feels very much like a miracle and I am so, so thankful to be on this thread.
    Better is good enough.

Calling in to post 1/21 for me for August. I watched a lot of superb fireworks last night (it's the National day here) but drank just juice so very sober.
    Trying to keep in budget.

P.S. Good to hear that topboy's home and having a good AF influence.

These seven am wake up calls are much easier when you're not having to negotiate your way through wine fogs of varying heaviness.

That said, I barely slept at all last night, probably a combo of lack of 'relaxing' pre-bed drinks, being far too hot and humid and my paranoia - Every creak has me reaching for the safety bat and my mobile.

Woke up this morning full of a stinking cold, a friend I saw on Thursday had one and she has kindly handed it on, so this will definitely be a day of board games, beechams and bare minimum of effort and I am confidently calling 2/20 as I am getting a hot bath shortly, putting on big thick pjs and not leaving the house again.

Welcome back Shaggy! I'm glad you had a fab time - the thread is very lacking a certain je ne sais quo while you've been away. thank you so much for all your inspirational pics, welcome wagons and colourful scoring you do for us.
I'm on 1/14 for August please and by not having one in July I have found out I like having a target.

    Thanks all.

Really fancied a bottle of wine on top of a lemsip to send me off tonight but have managed to get beyond Top Boy's bedtime so it's out of the question now :T

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
