Hi All
Feeling really positive today, Shaggy can you change my target to 17 please. I will try really hard to achieve this, in hindsight I think I was overly ambitious with 24! Starting afresh as of today & I will be working my way to being AF all weekend, I have a beautiful 11 month old princess staying with me on Saturday & first time she has stayed over & she is more important than alcohol.

Hellooo all you beautiful people
I really need opinions on this. As you know I'm using the placebos of Sorrelle and Becks Blue/Erdinger when I would normally reach for a glass of wine...this completely works for me without turning a hair - am I deluding myself that Im in control?
I was out last night (drank 2 Becks Blue), Im 50+, free and single with an excellent social life so alcohol and socialising is a big part of it.:)
Ive been there with the DS1 & 2 and DD doing tough exams, whilst seperating and moving house 3 times so know the massive pressures it puts on parents - so I defo admire any alcohol free resilliance you lot have at pressure times :T
Shaggy please mark me down for 3/23

I think what you're trying to do is break a habit of long standing. I know I found it really hard not to have a drink in my hand at first and I drank gallons of water. Lots of people have soft drinks in a wine glass. You wouldn't think badly of yourself if you were in the pub having diet coke so what's the difference.
I suppose it's a bit like the people who have fake cigarettes to wean them off real ones.
If it's really bothering you then try having tea or squash at home and fake booze when out as an experiment i.e. a baby step towards doing without.
Cold turkey isn't the only way.

I am doing the same with the Sorelle 5-year but I drink it for two reasons - I do feel like I am having a glass of wine but also I find most soft drinks far too sweet - the only exception being slimline tonic and there is only so much of that I can tolerate .
I think that you are showing control by choosing to have AF drinks in whatever guise they might be.
Definitely AF for me again tonight so that will make 5/12 please shaggy.
Have a good day everyone0 -
I have been awol but back now and have 3 more to report0

I drink apple juice and soda in a wine glass to feel as if it's wine. Might try the Sorelle if I can find it.
7/21 for tonight please. First smiley :T0 -
Halfway there, 10/20 AFDs0

Had too much of a bottle of wine tonight, blaming the text arguments with (not very D tonight) S2. DS2's made life very difficult for his brother, again. DS1 understandably was upset, and asked my advice. There was no middle line I could tread. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Hi.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one going through the whole difficult teenage boy thing and exams at the moment. Not that I'd wish it on anyone, but it makes me feel better to know.
I didn't even get to yoga last night as was too exhausted even for that. It's a rare occasion that I don't feel up to it but I was in bed at 7.30 unable to move a limb. Asleep by 8! I just need to slowdown, hence the name!
I congratulate those who are using the replacements for alcohol. I have never been able to get used to them. I think I would prefer a soft drink.
Well due to early night I clocked up 5/14. Hoping to have the energy for the gym tonight but I'll see how work goes today!
Kind regards
Slowdown:)0 -
Morning :hello:
1 more AFD making 10 until yesterday.
I have lost more weight - I've now lost 19 Llbs - and am 5 Llbs away from my target. :j Got into my size 12 and 14 shorts (but not my 10s) Still plenty of work to do but I have 5 and a half weeks until my hols.
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0
