Been lurking.feeling desperate as need to give up. Get home from work and simply lack willpower. Wake up early hours: heart pounding, feeling grotty and ashamed. Need to simply not drink at all, rather than attempt to cut down. Why can't I see sense? Perhaps de lurking will help

    Welcome :)

I was the same when I joined but once you manage one AF day, the others are easier :)

Very nearly caved in last night but managed to stay AF :T Probably will have a few glasses tonight though.

ps - glad to read DH is still clear, Slowdown :j

    Hi everyone

Thanks to everyone who cheered for DH and his scan. We don't know if he is out of the woods yet as he has been told he may still have it and it's just dormant. They have no idea what the future holds as they simply can't tell. It's tricky to live with as there is no firm all clear at any point. But hey, it's great news for now.

As for the drinking, have been AF tonight and will stay that way as off to yoga soon. That's 11/14! Not bad for a wimp!

Good luck to everyone tonight, go for the teapot not the bottle.

    Kind regards
    Slowdown:)

13/20 AFDs. After a phone call from my sister this afternoon, I'm staying at mum's tonight. Mum had a fall yesterday, no real damage done (scraped knee), although she was cross that there's now a hole in her brand new bargain trousers (which are no longer a bargain). I said the trousers probably prevented more widespread cuts to her knees. But she was rather confused today, thinking it was Saturday even when she bought a newspaper - she was convinced she'd been given an old newspaper and rang the shop.

This is why I'm thankful that I relocated from a four hour drive away to a half hour drive.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
