Yeah once I've declared here it seems to give me more willpower. Not sure why but it does :T

I'm ashamed to say that tonight I've had a s*d it occasion and succumbed to DH's offer of wine (not that I needed much persuading) and my only excuse was a difficult work conversation I'd had earlier.

    I'll adjust my totals accordingly.:o

    Must do better.

I think you're doing pretty well maman :T

However, and I speak for myself here, it's so easy to think I was in control of alcohol just because I was able to moderate sometimes and occasionally abstain.
The "s-d it" moments I had showed me that I wasn't in control, same as the occasions where I set out to have only 2 drinks, but ended up with 8 drinks inside me....

    10 please Shaggy, ta

Thanks for the tip, 5-year plan, I'll look out for that.

I am going to try not to have any wine tonight - I had managed to get out of the habit of Friday and Saturday night wine, but started again about a year ago, and my AFDs have gone down and my total units have gone up. I must keep in mind the idea of feeling wonderful tomorrow morning and cycling to the gym in the sunshine, rather than feeling grotty.

Have a good sunny Friday everybody xx

Went tothe pub last night with the family they do meal deals £3.99 for the kiddies including fruit bag and £5.99 for adults with soft drink or £6.99 with a pint/glass of wine. Big test so i got becks blue which they charged me soft drink prices. Feel like i had a good night!

    Good morning all :hello:

Shaggy could you please mark me down for 1/17

graemecarter - I know what you mean and I have been through periods where I have completely abstained or tried to cut back without success and the strain of it was nearly defeating the purpose of it all.

Im a great believer in 'things are meant to happen for a reason' and finding 'sorelle' (or a 0% alcohol free wine) was a tipping point for me :j I feel psychologically Im having glasses of wine but without the effect which is totally working for me. I dont feel Im missing out on the social aspect of drinking - I also found Im a 'lets have a glass of wine to celebrate/commiserate' type of person and this placebo is great for that.

I had an alcohol free 'girlie' night last friday night using sorelle and becks blue, myself and another friend were completely content while some of the others roared with laughter and said 'nope' definitely not for them and got stuck into the wine.

Sooooo........I just hope this is a turning point for me :jI have been able to really work on my fitness which is a big part of my life and have planned to do the Dublin marathon in October 2014  (I swore I would never, never do another marathon...flip me I must have sobered up too much :rotfl:)

BTW the 0% isnt cheap @ £3.59 per bottle so my next move is to reduce my intake - there's always flipping something :rotfl:

Great to be back - I hope everyone has a great 'hangover' free day :j

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
