    20/31 for tonight please.
  • Ugh, Friday evening. The toughest one of the week. I am absolutely stubbornly NOT GIVING IN. There has been talk with my bf (who is also doing dry Jan) of us using up some free cocktail vouchers which need to be used before the end of the month. We had already decided to go to this particular restaurant anyway as a treat this month as we've both been working extra hard, but we haven't decided whether to use the vouchers or not yet. Given that I'm not totally giving up alcohol, it would be a shame to waste them. But I'm so stubborn about doing this that I don't want to give in either. We've got a week to decide as we'll probably go the last weekend of the month.
Who'd have thought I'd ever turn down free booze?!
    20/31 please shaggy

    19/30 for me please.

It's pay day today and that on it's own is normally a reason to drink, add in it's a Friday and it means I'm trying to keep my mind of it. It's a habit :o

Ask the bar for a mocktail version, I'm sure they'd be happy to.

Hmmm, I'm afraid for me, alcohol-free alcohol is a bit of a no-go. I appreciate other people like AF wine and beer, cocktails etc. but for me it's a bit like decaf coffee... no caffeine, no point! I think I'd rather have a soft drink, water or tea, as then it's less of a substitute. Having said that, a mocktail would probably actually taste quite nice so I'll give it some thought!

    Thank you.

There is a girl in my team at work who gets drunk a lot -which is sort of part of my work culture. A few weeks ago she told a colleague his girlfriend was beneath him and that she didn't understand why he was wasting his time. They are together 3 years and very much in love.
She also has a lot of other inappropriate drunken behaviours to the point that a lot of people find her hard to be around.
I am honestly not judging her but I think seeing somebody behave like this can be quite sobering.

This January I have only had drinks with my closest friends and family and feel a lot better for it. No drunken behaviours this month which I hope to continue.
