    14/22 please Shaggy

Have been suffering all week with a headache and last night it turned into a migraine. As well as cutting out alcohol I've also rejoined SW and sticking to it rigidly, does anybody think that could be the cause of my headaches? Is my body getting rid of all of the toxins and if so how can I speed it up, can't cope with these head banging headaches much longer!?

I'm not sure but it sounds horrible. Is there any chance you're dehydrated? If you haven't stepped up your liquid intake since you knocked off the booze it could be as simple as that. If it carries on I'd definitely ring NHS Direct or whatever it's called and see what they'd suggest.

Marvellous Lovesale! I bet that felt good.

Not sure what to suggest Cuppa Tea. If your relative is anything like me, going through the first few days and weeks of knocking a really bad habit on the head meant that my mind couldn't banish thinking about it, so being able to talk about it was always a help. If you checked in with them every day that would probably be more meaningful than silently wishing them well, with or without drinking.

    22/31 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.

  • Morning all. 21/31 for last night please :)
Polishing my halo slightly this morning as I stayed AF last night despite the fact that we went out on a date night. We were given free tickets to a show (which was awesome) so we went for food first too, and I stuck to soft drinks. We both commented that you notice how much more other people drink when you're staying AF. Will report in later for another one on the total hopefully.
  • Well morning all !
When I first joined you all I said I would drink a bottle of wine a night and 2 or more at weekends (fri sat sun ) I was AF Monday to Thursday , one tiny glass Friday ,,, but hit the wine big time yesterday ,,started late afternoon at a friends house and one bottle down , went for a lovely meal, second bottle , then on way home went for a drink in a local micro pub ,, so in all must have done 2 and a half bottles !
I've been really honest here and always admitted I'm very greedy when it comes to wine , funny but if I drink vodka I can the odd one or take it or leave it.
So I'm feeling bad writing how much I drank,, that said I will have wine today , as its my de clutter day , as I'm going to be moving soon ( divorce) and been in house over 20 years ,, last week was shoes, today clothes ,,,,
When I gave up smoking I tried so many times ,,, a week here a month there , I once did 6 months! But smoking is different to alcohol ,, I used to smoke first thing in morning ,, I don't drink first thing ,, I don't drink at work ,,, I used to count the minutes until I could nip out and have a fag!!
I know I will eventually kick the booze ,, but it's not going to overnight,, writing / talking about it to you guys has ans is really helping me , I'm being totally honest about my relationship with drink ,,,
Thank you all ,, I hope what I've written makes sense as it's just what's in my mind at this present moment ,,,
Well done for all of you who are AF ,, one day I will be ,,,, baby steps ,,,
On the bright side me not drinking mon - Thursday saved me £16 ! Now that is MSE !!!
:money: I will never be rich but I'm happy :rotfl:
  • Loveasale I think you should be really proud of what you've achieved. It sounds as though you've already made a drastic change. Going AF during the week has given you an idea of how it feels to be clear headed and might help motivate you to keep it up some of the time, if that's what you want to do. Well done :T

One step at a time loveasale x :A

I'm with you on the wine vs vodka. I can moderate vodka much easier.
