    5/24 AFDs today
  • Thanks Shaggy, feeling better today and I've racked up another AFD after walking past huge numbers of Londoners drinking outside pubs everywhere. I still enjoyed my walk and stayed strong so 3/10 for me. The scales seem to be going in the right direction too - obviously there is no connection there at all!
Now I'm hoping for a good nights sleep - I'm planning another AFD tomorrow.
    Sleep well everyone.
  • 4/16 for tonight please, I'm on a roll. The AF wine helped me to avoid temptation tonight
What goes around comes around.....I hope!

    Good morning everyone,

    1 AFD please Shaggy.

Have a good day. Arkers x
  • Hi All
Not been on here for a good while! The alcohol consumption gone mad and I am putting on unwanted weight so thought I would try to get some control again.
Could do with some good tips on getting through a night without alcohol tonight as a start.
I know Sep well underway but can I start with a gentle aim of 7AF days for the month thanks Shaggy.

Hang on in there, Maman! The bells will sound muffled in a day or two and then you'll hardly notice them.

Welcome back Green Karen! The single thing that made the biggest difference to me was finding an AF drink I enjoyed. For me it was B***ks B**e, but other people chose tea, water, water with a dash of flavour, anything as long as you enjoy it enough to not feel you're missing out.

We're going to dinner with the couple who did dry January and the husband decided to stick with it afterwards. Apparently they have my fave B***s B**e at home all the time now and he's stuck with going AF apart from a pint or two of Guiness on hols in Ireland. It'll be interesting to see how he feels about the whole thing after eight months. One of the interesting things he said after a couple of months was that he'd absolutely dreaded talking to his friends about going AF and found, much to his astonishment, that they were on roughly the same path, after admitting they'd become very worried about the amount they drank.

    8/30 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.

Can't believe it's the 8th already and I'm only on 1 AF day! Calling early for tonight 2/15 please Shaggy. I've been feeling miserable/sad/fed up and just driving myself crazy with work stuff. Drinking only helps for the duration of the drinking and not at all the next day so I need to have more days AF.

Well done to everyone who is tracking and trying :)

Really good idea! Been looking into it but wondered if anyone could suggest a really good alcohol free wine, am not a wine expert by any means, but I do love the flavours of wine and don't just want a grape juice taste.
