7/17 for me please.
I had some wine last night. I ended up buying the wine I saw on offer a day later. Wasn't going to have any until the weekend, but of course it was in the house calling to me. I reasoned I am cutting back not depriving myself totally and a night off after a run of 8 justifies it. I did use my stop button but this morning I felt guilty that I broke the seal. Still I haven't let it get to me so that I finish what I started. The bottle is still in the fridge for tonight. Might get completed tomorrow as I have a friend round for dinner.

Thanks Elusivelucy and Newme for the Sainsburys tip for the sparkling wine. Will try to get some tomorrow. Tried Eisberg 'chardonnay' tonight but like grape juice.
Sparkly will be good tomorrow as hubby and I had got into the habit of 'fizzy Fridays' and hopefully the Sainsburys will suffice!
Calling in 1/7 AF days tonight.0 -
If anyone can find an AF wine that tastes like wine, let me know! One friend finds Eisberg white wine acceptable and I'd go along with Sainsbobs AF sparkling white as acceptable but it doesn't taste like wine. I think it tastes like elderflower champagne which is fine by me. After I stopped drinking for a few months I became obsessed with finding an AF Irish Coffee. Someone on here suggested a couple which put me on the right track and I tried as many as I could find. The upshot of all that was that I finally accepted I wouldn't find what I wanted, and I had to settle for a drink that I had no expectations about, which is how I settled on B***s B**e - I was never a lager drinker so it doesn't disappoint me, if you get my meaning. Can't believe it's the 8th already and I'm only on 1 AF day! Calling early for tonight 2/15 please Shaggy. I've been feeling miserable/sad/fed up and just driving myself crazy with work stuff. Drinking only helps for the duration of the drinking and not at all the next day so I need to have more days AF.
Well done to everyone who is tracking and trying
Could it be Seasonal Affective Disorder, known as SAD, that's getting you down, New Me? A lot of people feel grim in September. It's said to be to do with light levels and if you're affected you'd need to get as much daylight as possible. Walks, basically although a Daylight bulb in a desklamp would probably help. Craft shops and sewing shops sell them.I think those that try to talk you into a drink/make you feel bad probably do it to cover up the fact that they know they should be cutting down too.
The 'Oh, one wouldn't matter, go on!' ones are defo the ones that are very aware that they drink too much! I have to admit that there were friends who very kindly tried to suggest I may be a little too free with my drinking but like anyone who smokes - I just would not be told. And I'd go so far as to say it makes the situation worse. Admitting I had a problem and I was doing something about it after I'd done the 100 Day Challenge produced admissions that some people knew they should, too, but .... The host tonight is the only person who did. He's the practising psychologist who thought his awful, awful sleep problems were as a result of work stress and discovered it was booze. That's why he never went back to drinking.
9/30 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -

Hi folks, good to see everyone doing so well.
I have only had 1 AF day so far (then again I have just been on holiday for a week, so didn't expect to have any)
I will prob have some AF wine tonight (I really like the Sainsbobs Sparkling) and am I'm visiting friends on Saturday night so will most likely have some wine then.....however, I am aiming for Sun - Thurs of next week been AF days.
I've also kicked the fags (well day 3 of being a non smoker). Although I wasn't a heavy smoker, I smoked far more if I had a drink, so another good reason to cut the booze down as it will make the quitting smoking easier.
