Don't hesitate to let me know if I've made a mistake! What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

I don't understand. It can work with anyone who has come off booze not just cutters down. For example I've not cut down I'm completely abstaining from it.
The thread works in any way that users want it to, KingS6. Well done on knocking the drinking on the head. I stopped drinking completely a couple of years ago but most people just cut down by abstaining for the number of days a month that they choose. I don't see it as a competition, though. In my drinking days I'd have been doing well not to drink for four days a month.I've also achieved 2 CFDs - Chocolate Free Days - OH and I are trying to give up chocolate until Xmas!!!! in a bid to lose a bit of weight....can't believe I have actually managed 2 whole day without chocolate tbh....one day at a time...:D
Shaggyx
Ditto for the Happy Bank Holiday wishes, but cutting out chocolate completely .... now, that's tough. Good luck with it! (Pretty certain chocolate's got a high GI but I haven't bothered to check.)
29/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
Thanks for my smiley Shaggy, I'm basking under my umbrella!! Good luck with the chocolate abstinence.;)I don't understand. It can work with anyone who has come off booze not just cutters down. For example I've not cut down I'm completely abstaining from it.
Maybe I misunderstood. I don't see how you can have a competition with someone who has given up completely. The most you can do is match it.
I challenge myself in that I go for a minimum of 10 each month and if I can beat it that's a bonus.0 -

You did. For example I'm 30 days on target free and I'm just going to keep it rolling for as long as I wish. Now if someone is on a similar amount to me but is slightly ahead that gives me a further target I can aim for, it gives me a further incentive to chase it. I may never catch up but that's not the point. Matching in itself is competitive. This can also have a knock on effect on someone on a similar amount but slightly behind me wanting to chase my new progress.
I hope you achieve your target, great work and great to be amongst like minded folk.0 -
20/15 pls shaggyLive for the moment and plan for the future0

20 please, Shaggy thanks
But the units on the non-AFD's are creeping up badly again, so I am going to seriously work on this in September :eek:0 -
hi all, hi Shaggy, can I set a goal of 15 for September please? Thanks0

Afternoon friends! Been AWOL for a while due to RL being super busy but pleased with my AFD count as I have another 4 days to add since I last posted (back on 24th, I think).
Thanks for all the support over the FB thing. DH took away the corkscrew and wiped away my tears, so I did manage an AF day then, which I'm very pleased about. I've decided to live my life the way I want to and not be upset by other people and their boasting and gloating and feel remarkably calm about it. Love you lot loads :heartpuls
Bank Holiday Monday was a fail. Enough said. No hangover though, or silly behaviour as I paced the drinking (no thanks to my mate) throughout the afternoon and evening.
Proudly declaring 23/31 with another one expected tonight
September is my birthday month and I have a few social engagements so I'm setting a conservative target of 24 days please Shaggy x0
