Thanks Honey bear for your kind words, felt positively smug last night after a particular stressful day and went out to get my husband some beers wondered past the wine isle looking longingly at the bottles and resisted the temptation came home and had a fizzy instead

Such is my anxiety about drinking at the wedding tomorrow, I actually dreamt I was drinking a glass of white wine at the wedding last night. I woke up with a start, thinking I actually had and was full of anxiety & remorse. I am praying there will be some non alcoholic beers there.

Why not call the hotel today and ask them? Explain you're 'on antibiotics' and then maybe if they don't have any in they'll get them in specially for you. It's an upmarket hotel isn't it?

If it's not at a hotel then just take your own.;)

Thanks for good wishes all. I'm still coughing well.:)

I hope you held out, Elusive Lucy, and felt better for it. Fingers crossed for a better day today..

I am sad to report that I didn't and my stop button didn't work either. However I then had a migraine on Weds night (serves me right) and felt rough all day yesterday so I can add another 2 days to my total 3/16. I might go AF tomorrow ss I am out all day, but there again I might have a drink when I get back home, depends what time it is and how I feel.

I am going back on a diet next week so I will need willpower. I hope I can muster it,

    Morning folks,

Still haven't made an AF day yet, and today won't be either. Got my best friend's daughters birthday party this evening. Planning on only having a few though, or rather, planning on not staying too long so I won't drink too much.

Manpants and Anita - good luck today, from reading your posts I am sure you will both stay strong and enjoy the days.

I've recently started counselling again, had the first session on Thursday night. Got a lot of stuff I want to talk over and work through and I struggle to do that with my friends and family. Its much easier with someone anonymous.

It is in a stately home Maman.........but not one that is being rented for the day.
I believe outside caterers have been hired including bar. Taking some AF beers with me incase. Doesn't change the fact I will have 12 hours of complete boredom whilst everyone else is kicking their heels up. Absolutely dreading it.

Good luck with the wedding tomorrow; I'll be thinking of you and wishing you *strenthening vibes* all day.

Thank you so much HoneyBear! I fear I am going to need them.

Well done Shy on starting counselling. I've had a ton and look how well balanced I am :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Seriously though, it really does help massively to help unburden and get things a bit clearer using someone else's input. Hugs!

Car picks us up in 3 hours. My wedding in march where I touched a straight bloke on the !!!, spanked the brides mother and insulted another guest has got to stay fresh in my mind today. I can see me feeling anxious and awkward in a social situation & grabbing a champagne as a tray goes past. I just have to fast forward the movie to the next day where I have to apologise for stuff I've done or said. As I said previously, this is a wedding where I will see the hosts afterwards. And god forbid I do anything so bad that I don't. There is no running away option. I simply don't have the ability to ingest alcohol in a civilised fashion.

Hope you all have a great day :-)

Best of luck ManPants - I really admire your resolve. If I went to a pub and then a steak restaurant I'd struggle! Nothing better than a good steak, btw - steak frites with a lovely Bearnaise sauce, absolutely my favourite meal of all time. Anyway, may the force be with you!
