Girlfriend and I are doing this, trying to fit in as many days as we can. We started doing running but due to this weather it's horrible and offputting. So shred is the perfect stay in exercise routine.

I also play football and try to walk to work whenever I can and again waiting for weather to change so I can cycle to work.

Shred works really well but certianly as a bloke I really need some heavy weights as bean tins are not cutting it for a big man like me.

Funnily enough I am finding that my legs are the weakest part of me, but maybe that is because I had already been working out with weights on the arms and doing various stomach exercises.
I haven't lost any weight either, if anything have gained a few pounds but I am not going to give up (yet ;) )

Waist (around belly button) has gone down 2" but no change anywhere else but there is def muscle definition and I do feel leaner and more toned. I was hoping that maybe my thighs would bulk up a bit (18 1/2" ) but I guess I will have to hit the gym for that.
Mat- I'm not using bean tins lol but 8-8 1/2 lb weights.
  • Onto level 3 woohoo. I find progressing to level 3 much easier than level 1 to level 2. Not lost anymore pounds or inches but i've totally pigged out for about 4 days since valentines day and not gained anything. I was doing level 1 and 2 or level 2 and then shed and shred.
I like shred and shed alot its a nice change from the shred.

One thing i noticed is that I find level 1 alot easier now. I was doing level 1 with my boyfriend and he goes the gym but struggled on level 1 and I was fine where in the past I'd have to have couple seconds rest.
Goes to show how much it helps your fitness levels.

I haven't done that one yet. I started the 'Ripped in 30' but only got to week 2 and then had a couple of busy days and ended up not getting back in to it again - need to get a bit more motivated. Got a couple of the other 30 day shed and shred & Thighs and bums but not tried these yet!

Well that is me done my thirty days :) Will have a final measure tomorrow but I think the only place I have lost anything is around the waist and should I also mention that I have gained 5lb :O!! (enough to put anyone off)

Muscles are looking more defined though so I guess that is something. I am going to have two rest days and then I think I will go back to level 1 for a day level 2 for a day etc.
  • Well done everyone, its nice reading the progress made so far. I finally started a few days ago am on level 1 day 7 and enjoying it. The first 4 days I could barely sit down because my legs felt stiff and painful, now am getting use to it. By reading this thread it seems like level 2 is a challenge, can't wait to start there. The hardest part for me in Level 1 is the push ups, I started doing the modified version but after day 5 I went on to do the advanced.

Keep it up my fellow shredders....hopefully for summer we'll all be toned, shaped and shredded. :D

  • Have just done day 1 of level 1 and my push-ups are puny! Couldn't do that at all :o am looking at joining a gym to do some weights. Have lost a lot of weight and jog 5k 5 times a week, row 5k 4/5 times a week but I need something else. Toning is going to take a while as I have quite a bit of excess skin :o:o:o but I really want to try lots of things to see what works. Any suggestions?
  • I can't seem to keep at this. I'll do it for 3 days and then get bored.
    I need some motivation!

Day 2 done, that last set of bicycle crunches kills me :o I have just shouted at my husband when he was trying to be encouraging as well  :o I will apologise when he comes back in! I'm feeling it mostly in my shoulders and an occasional twinge in the abs, fingers crossed it's working :rotfl::rotfl:
  • I finished the shred last week. I didn't lose much in weight, maybe 2 pounds but it's hard to tell because my weight fluctuates a lot anyway.
I've definitely lost fat though, my stomach has shrunk in size considerably and the flabby muffin top I've had for years has almost completely disappeared. I've gained muscle too, my arms and legs are looking a lot more toned and my bum is much more pert :D
The biggest difference though has got to be in terms of fitness. When I was doing the shred I had to take a lot of breaks during the workouts for water and to get my breath back. After I'd finished the 30 days I went back and did a level one workout and was amazed how much easier I found it, I can now do it the whole way through without a break and none of the workouts leave me aching any more. Today I went for a run, it was the first time I'd been since before the shred and my stamina has improved immensely.

Those of you who are still struggling through it, keep with it, it is definitely worth the effort!
