  • I've been attempting to start the 30 day shred for awhile now. After reading this thread I am now excited to start as soon as my dvd arrive. Well done everyone, keep it up!

Had a day off from it yesterday but have just done day 9 (1)
I am one that just can't exercise in the morning, anything from about 2pm onwards is fine (going up to about 9.30 pm)
Rach- not dieting as such but trying to stay away in the main part from anything sugary and 'white' carbs (bread/pasta/rice etc)
Go for it Love A Bargain-just think of us all around the country doing the same thing :)

Just finished day 7 of level one and I feel really chuffed that I've managed to stick with it :D It is definitely getting easier and my muscles have more or less stopped hurting now, though I still haven't got proper weights so I feel like I'm cheating a bit using cans instead. What weight of weights does everyone use? Would a kilo be ok?
RachRuby - I have been trying to diet (or at least eat more healthily) while doing the shred but I failed miserably this weekend and definitely put back on any calories I burnt off. I'm going to start going for a run before doing the shred to get a bit of extra cardio :)

    Morning! Just done 10/30
Took the weekend off and accidentally drank wine Sunday (!) so had no energy yesterday morning. But I knew I didn't just want to quit now, it's up to me to find that willpower.
After not doing it for 3 days it felt harder again, so won't do that again.
So now onto level 2 tomorrow!! I'll try and take measurements tonight, but with 3 days off I don't know if they'll be very different.

Keep going guys. Soon we'll all look like Gillian and can constantly tell people we didn't get this way by phoning it at the gym!

I bought the dvd, but my dodgy left knee has been playing up more than usual lately.

I'm waiting on a specialist appointment.

Is it hard on the knee joints?

    Well done you :)
Re weights, my dd has been using those really light ones you get with the Zumba dvds, she took delivery of some 2.5 k (5.4lb) ones yesterday and said it takes so much more effort to do the routine.

Good luck Angela on level 2-let us know how much it hurts afterwards ;)

Mrs E-my dd does find it tough on the knee joints, but I don't. I would urge extreme caution if you have knee issues.

Is this much different to the insanity workout? Thanks.

I don't know tbh, never tried Insanity-took a look and thought nooooooooo!! I think the thirty day shred is doable, you have to put some effort in but it doesn't kill you and because they are only short routines it is over before you know it :)
  • Insanity is amazing :) 30DS is good if you have never tried the circuit-style training before...I would never jump into Insanity from the couch without preparation first!

MrsE I would say it is tough on the knees yes. Jumping jacks, butt kicks, skipping rope, and lunges. I'd watch it through/give it a try but modify anything you can't handle. The punches she does are a good cardio that doesn't move your lower body.

Gonna do measurements now. Not going to be totally brilliant as haven't stuck to this 10 days in a row, but hopefully see done difference anyway, it's the first time I've ever stuck at something!
