I am currently facing redundancy, so my resolutions for 2014 will be:
1) Stay positive in the face of rejection (having lots of this -I'm looking to change career and it's tough)
2) Keep trying - it only takes one 'yes' !
3) Get a new job by May
4) plan b - start studying for a qualification relevant to my new career, qualify by end 2014 and re start the job hunt in September.
5) Be more MSE to match my reduced earnings.....
6) Put more effort into my relationship ( otherwise I may not have one by December...)
There's lots more but these are enough to be going on with for the first part of this year - wish me luck, I'm going to need all I can get!Penny: I'm a little low on cash.
Leonard: How much you got?
Penny: Nothing!
Leonard: How can you walk around with no money?
Penny: I'm cute, I get by.0 -
Great thread!
2014 will mean-
1) Declutter my house
2) Resume my running journey, build back to a 10k then if possible a half marathon
3) Lose the weight I hate- it gets me down.
4) Having been a single working mum most of my adult life, and now a Grandma, must make more time for me!
5) Find a relationship- don't want to be single for evermore, and an all-time-love would be fabulous!

I think I'd like to take part in this!
My goals for 2014:
- Save £5000 minimum.
- Tighten up my budget and keep a hold of it for the whole year.
- Sell my present home and move to a more suitable property.
I have a few other aspirations, you know the usual: lose weight, become fitter, have a nice holiday, eat more greens etc. but if I achieve these 3, I will be happy.
It may be a bit early in the month yet but as I'm analysing this year which is finishing, it seems like a good idea to update my post on this thread too
So, how did I do?
- Save 5k: Epic fail as I had to spend about £2,500 on repairs to my home this year! And spend a lot more on clothes than expected (see below for reason)
- budget: I did keep an eye on my budget so, even if I spent more than I expected, that's a success.
- Didn't sell my home though, but that's only put back another 12-18 months.
However, I lost a lot of weight, am fitter than in January, am eating a lot of greens
and had a couple of really nice short breaks too
At present, I am thinking of new targets and challenges for 2015.
How has everybody else done then?LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

Other than staying alive, I had no goals, but I'm still here, the cancer hasn't killed me yet and is still contained in one area.
It did start getting active again and grew a bit, so I've been having chemo for the past 3 months. Last session on the 27th.
Maybe I'll be able to post on next years thread.

To save writing it all again, i'll just say 'ditto' for next year as it was for this year. Come to think of it i think i may have said that for last year and the one before.
But at least i'm alive and kicking.
See you this time next year with an update.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

3) Ensure a stable job situation, this might be out of my control in some ways
4) Do more walking at evenings and weekends when spring arrives
5) Keep in touch with friends more when life gets in the way
1) Sort of, not totally done yet though
2) No, but a re-mortgage should enable us to do this in the next year hopefully, was actually talking to OH about this last night
3) Yes in a way, a lot happier now and more prospects in the horizon
4) Yes, plus we also went and bought bikes, and even used them!
4) I'd like to think so, it doesn't seem to get easier with people's circumstances but a little effort is worth it0 -

Yeah. Big fat fail on most of these!
1. No - but there was a house move and some other issues. It's back on track for February 27th 2015...
2. Nope. Still chubby.
3. Yes! We booked a last minute trip to New York, went for a summer sun holiday, and had an amazing weekend in London for my big birthday.
4. Nope. I tracked 76km. So I might have managed a little more than 10%..
5. Nope. Injured
6. See 1.
Ah well. Try again this year
