  • Thanks so much for starting this thread.I think this is only the second year I’ve had very firm goals and I’m quite pleased with them. For some it’s about building more on already established habits but there are a couple that are really pushing me out of my comfort zone.
I would like to come back and post periodically too, say three monthly or so. This helps with accountability J

    My Goals for 2014:

Improve my health, mental and physical.

    · Lose a little weight (I want to be around 9.7, so lose 5lb) and then maintain.
    · Maintain my weightlifting routine twice a week and increase weights
    · Walk 10-15k steps per day
    · Free myself from my sugar addiction (started Dec 2013) including alcohol
    · Eat more vegetables – aim to get to 3 portions per day by middle of year
    · Learn more about nutrition
    · Go to yoga twice a week and stretch daily

Be mindful in my life and use my mind more:
    · Read every day either for pleasure or for learning
    · Surf less (one laptop charge per day)
    · Only watch TV I really want to see
    · Write and reflect every day

    Live an orderly life:
    · Keep up with daily housework routine
    · Declutter one item per day
    · Maintain positive routines
    · Buy only what I need
    · Be very aware of ‘time clutter’ at home and at work
    · No procrastination, especially at work. Do it now!

    Be brave:
    · Take opportunities for travel whenever possible
    · Buy a new house (this one is really scary!)

    Be kind:
    · Spend more time with friends and family (I have a plan for this)
    · Be generous in my thoughts especially at work
    · Be kind to myself, accept my limitations

Limitations are all in the mind, forget them and succeed.
  • I like this thread - they were talking about resolutions on the radio yesterday and one thing mentioned was that if you share your resolutions with people you're much more likely to stick to them.

So my goals for this year are:

    To be debt-free by July
Once I'm debt free, to save the money that would have gone on payments
To improve my fitness and complete my first sportive (booked for march -eek!)
To sort out the new garden (I want a veg patch for the summer so I can grow some of my own)
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

Not true! Time, money and energy are all limitations. I'm inclined to push myself too hard and end up running on empty, I did this to myself last year and really don't want to make the same mistake again :) I want to make an active decision about what to cut when the going gets tough not just drift into it :)

You really can achieve anything so forget about limitations - they're irrelevant and good luck.
