Been MIA for a couple of days. Busy flying rather than surfing, but that's good, isn't it?
Apologies, I've not caught up with the list but from the last couple of pages it seems that lots of people need hugs and posivibes. Sending lots so please help yourselves.
I've been busy flying but doing my own thing. We had a new front door fitted yesterday so I had a good clean up after that was finished. It's amazing how much of the house was covered despite keeping the doors shut. So, hall, landing and stairs and dining room thoroughly cleaned. Curtains washed and waiting to be ironed. Today I spent time clearing outside as for once it wasn't raining.
Will try to keep more to the schedule next week.
Many thanks to everyone who commented on our new grandson. He's now two days old and always hungry. Bless him! We're so looking forward to seeing him.0 -
Think I'm caught up. DGS coming to stay tomorrow, so house will be suitably wrecked to start again next week. Between working, house, swimming, DGS I don't have time for the other hobbies on the back-burner ie saw someone earlier mentioning genealogy - I LOVE IT - totally adictive and I have loads of paperwork to sort. Must make that a weekend job soon. Happy flying to all:rotfl:0

Welcome samtoby and any other newbies I've missed - take everything one step at a time and don't overstretch yourselves for a few weeks, by which time hopefully you shouldn't have to, because your house will be beautifully shiny all over
Sorry to hear of so much illness, sadness and BD visits. Special (((hugs))) to MadamMin.
Welcome back FurryBeast  See you at one or both of the FlymeetsPopped by to share this..Drag all the tat from under the bed and put it in its rightful places there's not much but I'll get the children to pull it all out before bed. There's a reason why children are small... :rotfl:Dustykitten wrote: »Idea for next week - comments please from you all
if we are going for 'a room in a week' do you want to suggest a room or for me to make it general and you all choose your room?
I have taken delivery today of 28 A4 clear plastic boxes with lids - not very cheap, but excellent for sorting, storing and (most importantly) finding all the bits and pieces that are clogging up the cupboard and drawers in our study/bedroom. DH also has his eye on some for his model railway
My TD was collected for repair this morning, then a couple who used to be neighbours of mine came round for coffee. Apart from sitting for an hour talking to them I have
- decluttered another couple of phonecalls
- sewn hanging loops on my new teatowels
- replaced broken / missing buttons on DH's shirt and my coat
- been into town to the electrical shop (the one that the repair man comes from) to order a new TD after the old one was declared irreparable  - it was at least 10 years old, so had done me well
- been to another local shop to see about roller blinds for the kitchen and DR
- chauffeured DH to the nearest model railway shop because he claimed to have withdrawal symptoms - but he only spent money (on this visit at least) on my little narrow gauge layout on the top of an old ironing board, which I've called Norton Iron Works - scrap iron into the factory, steam- and flat-irons out :A
Not a lot of flying from the list, but a good day todayTomorrow I must do some baking and make a couple of big pots of soup for a church lunch, then dig up the plants I want to keep from the front garden before it is all dug out and re-paved next week.

So today no housework done to speak of. I got 3 loads of washing hung out this morning, despite being bright and sunny its still very wet so I am putting it through the tumbler.
Did 4 hrs of paid stuff, came home, walked the dog, made pizza dough then off to get my hair cut. Fed everyone pizza and wedges, cleared up and now I am flagging. Do I leave the kids bedrooms for tomorrow or tackle one now? Mmm.
Weekend tasks:
Finances, need to know where I am
Hubbys bills, and possible accounts too
Friends tax return to finish - must do
Some paperwork for voluntary job
Then there's the kids bedrooms, the office and utility room which are all a mess and havent been touched yet.
Drags tired self off to have another half hour at it .....0 -
I have no dirty dishes:eek::j:j:j:j
Haven't seen that since DD came back. Pity I'll be doing tea soon so it'll be piled high againBut it's DD's turn to wash up so she'll have to deal with the curry mess
:rotfl:
Just sorting more washing out. Trying to put the bare minimum in the TD, but bedding is going in as it takes days on the maiden otherwise as I have to fold it up. And the towels that are currently drying on the maiden can go in with it, maybe the jeans as well.
Had a text from Ex to say he might have to pick DD up really early tomorrow (early to him was 10.15am, so I'm guessing 8am maybe?) so I need to make sure that DD is up as if she's in school so she's having an early night tonight. She looks like a panda with the bags under her eyesOh well, at least if it is that early I can get to the market for when it opens at 9am
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
:rotfl:DS1 has decided against potty training, we will try again in a week or two.
I am catching up on my washing, hopefully get more dry in the next few hours then I can Iron.
*rant*
I have deleted over 50 school 'friends' of Facebook today so I am down to family and a handful of friends.
Some of the people I have on really annoy me a typical post friend A Sarah has 1 child and is pregnant friend B Kylie has 2 children both 25.
B post "Feels like I have no social life anymore"
A replys "aw why babe?"
B "Just never go out any more always stuck at home with the kids"
A "Kylie just go out, I wouldn't dare be tied down to Jack being with him 24/7, I would go crazy hes too needy"
Jack is 2this convo had far less vowels but that's the theme with quite a lot of the girls I know sadly. It makes me very sad for the children involved so I have decided to just delete and forget before I say or do something I regret.
This is part of the reason I deactivated my account for 3 years.... that and I was addicted to farmville lol.0 -

My DH has made some beautiful layouts. The narrow gauge on the ironing board sounds delightful. Should love to see some pics.0 -
Not doing great but hanging in by the thin seat of my pants, children returned to school Monday, 2am Tuesday morning DS1 starts being sick. Bang goes the end of my productive week!
But but but one of the old mattresses went to the tip , only took him nearly 2 years and OH has put me some shelves up, within a week of buying them, I'm still in shock!
Anyways I'm trying to reorganise my tiny kitchen with the help of these shelves .... So I'm going to plod on againOne day I might be more organised...........

I thought as we are hopefully getting straight now after Christmas to mix it up next week. I was thinking along the lines of really concentrating on one room, giving it a good declutter and deep clean and backing this up with a keeping on top of the rest of the house with the basics at the same time? Please do say if you'd rather stay as we are and if we are going for 'a room in a week' do you want to suggest a room or for me to make it general and you all choose your room?
Great idea! Mine would be the spare room, I plan on painting next weekend so I need to clear it and clean it first. A deep clean would be good.yes thank you..Busy knitting and ignoring the fact my house is squalid
I commented to OH earlier we've had no charity bags in months.. guess what we got through the door 3 minutes later!?
I'm waiting for some too... Was thinking yesterday I've not had any since early Dec.
Popped by to share this..
Very sweet. She looks like Dot X
So kiddies are tucked up in my mums new bedrooms, and I'm going to bed soonjust waiting for washer to finish.
Question: back to my mobile phone issue. I knocked it off the bedside table on Xmas eve and it wouldn't switch back on. Vodafone took it for repair, and I've had a different handset returned as they couldn't fix mine. Meantime my stepdad gave me a spare iphone (to keep) so I've been using that for about 10days.
What do I do with the returned handset? M@zuma offer £100, on eBay they sell for about £180. Is there a happy medium? I think I'd stress about being ripped off on eBay, but clearly its worth more than £100, and I do want to give my stepdad some money, even though he said not (he's due another upgrade anytime now - business contract). bossy do u have a cex near you, they take a hour to check out the item but you can check the price they give before hand on their website, then give you a price depending on the condition but with it being new I am guessing it would be grade A it might be worth having google0
